I am actually working on mine atm. My niche is weight losing so there is quite alot competition, anyway I am trying to drive traffic tru twitter and facebook and see how it goes.

Nice a good start...you are using magento or some other CMS..or just a script?
 
I've just written a reply to whoever had posted a link ^^^ to their site on lamps which now seems to have disappeared???.

Anywho it looked nice but surprisingly nippy(fast) for a Magento store.

its me bro,I posted ..and rethinked..maybe I will get infraction for posting my site...just playing safe side..got 1 infraction which is permanent so don't want to risk

I wouldn't have thought you would get an infraction as you were basically showcasing your site but I fully understand your point and its always best to be safe than sorry ;)

I was going to say that I was impressed by the responsiveness of your site. Magento as you may well already know, does benefit from a higher spec'ed server and some shared hosting just simply aren't up to the task.

So i was going to ask what type of hosting are you on?.

I was going to mention about floating the copyright into the div class="f-right" in your footer so it displays on the right and your navigation-bar on the homepage to center but I am loving the cleanliness of that theme. Perhaps add some social icons too. Hope you don't mind the suggestions and feel free to ignore :)

Here in the UK they're two huge companies (well really loads more, just 2 examples) that have a pretty simple and straight forward theme that the acumen template reminds me of and that is Mothercare and John Lewis, add a com to the end. I love these layouts myself and I could really see myself being able to tweak (cough hack) that template to resemble them.

Anyway I am pretty sure you stated in the deleted post it was your very first Magento store?. If so you have done well and have a very nice looking site there.

thanks a lot homer ..I do use hostgator shared plan to host..my plan is to build 100 sites this month{may be crazy but I can}
I'am not too technical..It took me weeks to complete this site..I will remove the floating div class

This is my first amazon site ever..so little messed up..and doing basic SEO for upcoming 10 sites..

tried to fix..can you help me to fix the float?
 
I am actually off to bed I am afraid its gone 1:30am here. If you use Firefox then install firebug or in Chrome Inspect Element?. I don't use Chrome.

With tools like these you can right click to choose the program firebug/inspect element and you can see the html/CSS associated with each are of your site as you hover your mouse.

The footer container has two class columns within the footer if you will, f-left and f-right. Your links and also your copyright are both under f-left.

Someone more prolific than me with CSS/html on here can help, but failing that give me a pm after 8pm UK time tomorrow and I will look into this for you.

Ps. If it is really annoying you then you should know that it makes no real difference whether or not you show it. You should however incorporate either of the above tools as they are very, very handy.

I just noticed this thread, and thought that I would mention that I, too got some of the nice shares from Xenix (almost 2 weeks ago now), and have been busy trying to learn Magento and how to put it all together.

Just uploaded magento yesterday - been trying to do more studying than hands-on work to start out.

What I am doing - using Magento's multisite functionality, kind of like I do with WordPress - that way I can get a lot more onto my hosting with fewer resources used.

At the moment, I am searching here and elsewhere for a some decent magento books or tutorials.

Congrat's on getting your site up live :)

I made a test site in toss-away domain... looks nice and i think i should make one and see if i can get some traffic :) pofigy, have you seen any conversion in that lampsets site yet? how many UV's do you get and how much conversian and how much has it netted you?

like 10 UV a day..but no conversions yet..
but doing SEO now only..and gonna use social network..it converts good..
 
The site looks decent. I recommend removing the downward pointer next to the categories which don't have subcategories(you'll need to edit the theme I think, maybe add a simple if-else statement and add a css class), and experiment with moving the products to the left and use a right sidebar instead, see if that looks better. I increased the adsense CTR of one of my websites from 5% to 8% from moving the sidebar to the left, right-handed people pay more attention to the left side imo. Also put "Home" in the navbar.

can you help me to remove the downward pointer ?..and how to change the bar from left to right..I'am really weak in designing.
 
hey im having trouble with my shop, i can't seem to remove the header this is a demo store and all orders bla bla bla.
