SOPA hasn't even been up for vote yet. And websites have been able to be seized for years now. Just back in Nov, 150 websites engaging in selling of counterfeit items were seized. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/retail/story/2011-11-28/counterfeit-merchandise/51441640/1

The legal ability to seize a domain name has been in place for over a decade now.

BS...

Stop with the paranoia. Learn how things work.

1. Congress (i.e. House of Representatives) votes on law
2. Senate votes on their version of the law
3. Since most of the time the 2 are not identical it has to go to a committee and they have to make both laws match.
4. They vote again.
5. It then goes to the President for signature, veto or no signature.

Only after all this can it become a law. It is NOT a law yet.

SOPA had nothing to do with megaupload stop making these damn threads

Exact. Eventually all the current upload sites that doesn't filter the content will be shut down. But they will always be replaced. Government won't be able to stop it. Just like they will not be able to stop drug use. Supply and demand. Get over it.

great i will wait until the domain expired then i will buy it for $1 with godaddy coupon
amazing sopa

This is a Google/Yahoo/Bing thing. Tell me if I am wrong?

The servers weren't seized were they? If not then all
that means is the Feds are going to the search engine
companies and domain registrars and saying don't recognize these
site, right?

I know it means the same thing as seizing but can't these guys
just start using another URL and bam back in business, other than the cease and desist threats with jail time.

What stops BHW from going really black with the download section of this fine forum being ?able.
