I am considering publishing an article on medium and am considering two routes:

Option A. Contact publishers on Medium and offer a guest post
(This idea came from here: https://medium.com/the-mission/im-c...-medium-s-top-stories-here-s-how-631342d479ce)

Option B. Another article online said to write it in my own account and then try to get the publisher on Medium for my niche to feature it.

Question

1. Which option is better?

2. How does Option B even work? Would the publisher just post a link to my medium.com article and that's it? Basically the Twitter-equivalent of a retweet?

Thanks

Since this was posted a while ago, what did you decide to do?

I hope that you tried both give yorself more chances to win.

I am a medium writer for 7 large publications (Including the former largest publication on medium, free*******p)

It is always better to write directly to the publication on option B. Since if you are accepted as their writer, you can add more articles in your niche whenever you want. And most of the time, it is easy enough if you follow their quality control to get published.

A bit of tip from me, don't write for a publisher who has their submission form online, because you will battle with thousand of applicants who try to get their post submitted too. Instead, go with one who needs you to submit your draft post via email. It is easier. (FY hac***noo*)
