Hi all,

I am in the process of purchasing a medical site, once achieving some excellent stats and earnings.

I am basically getting the site for next to nothing - the owner wants to move on. A risk, but a risk worth taking to be honest, as expenses will be covered pretty quickly with current revenue.

My question is - has anyone been successful with recovering from the Medic Update? Are there any best practises you have followed to unlock the power of the site?

Any case studies / advice would be much appreciated. I see this as a great project for me starting 2020 to really challenge what can be done.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm not into the 'medical' niche but had some extra time over Christmas and watched a lot of videos, interviews of google people giving advice on various topics. From what I recall in regards to 'medic' update they said to write it in a way so an average Joe can understand the topic and more importantly they said reference/cite the sources so the readers (and google) understand that the info is credible and where it came from. Think of it as a university paper written for an average Joe with a lot of links to credible websites/resources. They also said that Google can not tell if an article was written by a doctor or an average person as there is no way to verify it. They judge the quality by the way it's written, citations and overall domain authority. Having a website that let's say promotes insurance with a couple of 'medical' articles does not help. It needs to be focused on a (broad) subject with internal linking digging deeper into it.
