Hey guys,

I'm planning to get into media buying (again).

Last time when I tried it I was using SiteScout. I made several campaigns with my minimum deposit ($500) promoting Clickbank products without much success. Actually I made no conversions because I spent most of the money without knowledge, I made several mistakes like not recognizing fake traffic sites in my campaign, but in the end I optimized pretty much everything, got around $0.05 CPC, but I went out of my budget.

I plan to try it again (and again, and again, till I become good at it) promoting CPA offers this time.

Why CPA?

First of all, I hear from everyone, media buying can work pretty well with CPA. Secondly, it will allow me to test more with my small budget ($500) because the conversion rate is much better with email submit or free signup offers than selling products.

I would like to hear about your experience guys, what worked for you, what didn't work, anything! I plan to go with a high paying (~$7) free sign up offer on a dating site first, but I'd like to try out several niches. I know $500 is not much, but I think it can be enough to work out a profitable campaign especially if I learn from others here. :)

If you had success and don't mind to share some information with us, please reply below, if you had no success, reply again! An unsuccessful campaign can be useful too, it shows what doesn't work, thats what we pay for with media buys, information: I know $500 ways to NOT sell a Clickbank product with media buys! :) So don't be afraid to talk about it here!

Thank you!

No one wants to risk his money but this is how it works. No risk, no reward. :)

I'm in a similar situation, on my second attempt at making money with mobile media buys promoting cpa offers. First time I spent around 1k and lost $900. This time I came back much more prepared and with a larger budget to test with. I've spent 2k and so far I've broke even.

After a few failed campaigns I got one profitable and I wanted to keep collecting data before scaling up, after a week suddenly all the traffic disappeared. I was getting 10k clicks in 6 hours and now I was getting 400 clicks in 24 hours. So I moved onto another country with a lot of cheap traffic and good cpa offers, just recently started testing a few. Sucks to put that much money and effort into a campaign only to see it crumble, but that's still part of the game I hear this story all the time. Just remember all it takes is one good campaign to pay for all the failed ones and more.

I haven't run any traffic with sitescout but it's next on my list after getting a few mobile campaigns profitable. From what I've read you need to focus on split testing EVERYTHING. How many creatives do you test in one campaign? I know you have to test a lot (10-15), are you direct linking or using a landing page? Need to split test different ad placements things like that. Promoting CB products is hard but there are people making multiple 1000s per day, it needs to be done with high quality landing pages. You should definitely try out some CPA offers, the beauty of sitescout is you can really get some highly targeted traffic. PM me your skype if you wanna chat more about media buying.

You should test both traffic on a CPA and Affiliate ..For CPA I suggest you to use traffic Vance because of the gaming traffic and they are converted very well..Like Mobile , iPad , xbox and ps4 offer this traffic vance is best... Also other side Affiliate product commission is good so one product sold and you will get $30-$50 commission , is equal to 30 lead of CPAs .. So it's all about traffic , offer and testing..

Just test your traffic and you will find the best niche which converts very well..

Do not dare to do mediabuy without using the retargeting feature!!!

kindly add me on skype: rumasson

Sure dude! :))) Ill add you just now. Seems legit.

You should put a stop-loss based on how much traffic you send to an offer without converting; that way, you don't burn your budget all on one thing.

And make sure you track; if you don't, you're basically gambling.

Thanks for your replies! I'll do everything mentioned above like tracking, spending smart on tests, etc. I want to come out with a profitable campaign this time. The only thing im not sure about is targeting. I plan to go with a dating offer first, but never promoted any dating offers before, I don't know where should I promote for the best results. I'm targeting sites based on demography now... im not sure about which niche should I choose to have better conversions. Anyone have experience with promoting dating offers? (like eharmony) Which niche sites should I look for to buy media for it?
