I'm making this post as a way to document my progress and to help motivate me to stay on top of my goals.

I'm a recent high school graduate, have years experience in SEO and digital marketing. Ran a few services, made websites, freelanced for over 300 individuals, and did two digital-marketing focused internships. (Lead generation, outreach, b2b relationship management) I also have all google certifications. (Ads, fundamentals of digital marketing, analytics individual) and am aiming to get one of the career certificates soon.

Throughout my life I have always been making money by providing marketing services, probably around $6000 USD net; but I've never actually worked for businesses. I always worked for influencers, usually smaller YouTubers. My biggest past client had 400k+ subscribers.

I want to take my digital marketing experience and knowledge to the next level by working directly with smaller/medium sized and preferably family owned businesses. I'm aware that majority of a marketing agency's sales come through via referrals, but I have scraping tools to get contact information from businesses as well as find them. Inputting data and organizing it is manual though. I'll be reaching out to a bunch of blue-collar businesses that provide all kinds of services and helping them get more clients in their area. (Restaurants, Gyms, Landscapers, Therapists, etc) I will charge a monthly fee that goes directly to me, then an additional fee that the business chooses to spend on advertisements. I have a PayPal business account so I can already manage invoicing/monthly subscriptions. ;)

I have a website fully made, and am going to spend a couple hours tinkering with it and just making it look nicer. I have google analytics tags on every page monitoring everything I can, and all URL's are being tracked to so I can see the customer journey and how people tend to interact with the site. Site is fully functional on both mobile and desktop, with a focus on mobile.

Here are my goals;

300 Leads generated/day
Contact all generated leads every Tuesday, follow-up Thursday
6 hours working on the business/day
3 phone calls/week
$1500 gross in 60 days

I know my monetary goal is possible if I dedicate myself to working and getting clients. My only concern is my ability to pitch myself and what I can do for a business over the phone, as it's never something I had to do with influencers working completely online. I'm going to watch some videos about the subject to try and get a better understanding of how exactly to market myself/services over the phone. But for now I'm going into it with 0 experience.

I'll update this post every afternoon with updates, (How many leads were generated, how much time was spent working, income) along with anything else that arises.

Day 1

Big day of realization. I found a lot of landscapers and got a list of all the towns in my state sorted by population, and started with the biggest one on the list. Got 40 landscaping companies. Sent them all emails immediately to test first-day open rates; their extremely low. A few emails failed to send, but all the businesses have active phone numbers.

This means I'm going to need a more direct approach; cold calling the companies. Something I have absolutely 0 experience in doing. I did some research, and learned about opening lines etc. I'm not the most social person but I am sure I can handle phone calls and get past the fear of rejection. I'm going to make a really nice starting script along with making the best pitch I possibly can, just to use as reference when I call these companies.

As far as hitting my goals;

40 leads generated/today
Contacted 40 leads as open-rate test,
3 hours work, (1 spent on website redesign/google analytics and live chat tagging, two spent gathering leads)
$0 Gross Income

Going to dump a lot more time into it tomorrow. Nervous about cold calling.

High school graduate and worked for 300 guys , it is itself big achievement.
