Me rank 3 for a keyword , need expert advice .

I am ranking at # 3 for a keyword having 36000 exact searches and 18600k search results .My rank is stable and no google dance is there.

Here is the detail about rank 1 and rank 2 websites.

Rank 2 website - Its an authority website having millions of backlinks for the result page but anchor of those urls is not my keyword but its an AUTHORITY WEBSITE .

rank 1 website - Having million of backlinks for the result page but anchor of those backlinks does not have the keyword in it much. I have more urls having the keyword as anchor text for my result url .

Some-one told me , i need to buy authority links now.
Can you please tell me -
[1] What i need to do now for getting rank 1? Should I make more and more backlinks or do i need to get authority links now?
I have analyzed my competitors a lot and i feel like I need actual pr backlinks now.

I have bought edu profiles also . I have taken backlink from every place,i can get...
so do you think , i need more and more backlinks ?
i guess , i have 10 times more backlinks than my competitor and i have done onpage optimization well also ....
