    "Hello john doe,

It has come to our attention that FB has named MB in a lawsuit. The complaint alleges that certain MB affiliates have caused FB users to "spam" their friends, use FB trademarks, and post deceptive offers.

We take these claims seriously. As you know, MB does not control the content of its affiliates' websites, the style of affiliate campaigns, or where affiliate web pages are hosted. MB merely acts as a traffic broker and statistical tracking system between affiliates and advertisers. MB has not "spammed" anyone on FB.

FB's allegations in the complaint are inaccurate. Regardless, we have every intention of cooperating with FB, to the extent possible, to ensure that all applicable laws and FB rules and are complied with. MB has a reputation of not allowing spam or deceptive advertising practices by its affiliates on social websites. In the past, we have removed affiliates from our network who had engaged in such unacceptable campaigns.

We expect this matter will be resolved promptly, amicably, and without any disruption to MB's business for advertisers or affiliates."

Email I and many others received.

Just got one myself. Looks like FB is cracking down which means that affiliate networks will probably start cracking down on affiliates.

Just got one as well. Creepy. I looked around, and apparently FB is saying MB "encouraged" users to scam FB. FB's legal council says that MB pays their affiliates .50-2.00 per lead when they themselves were paid $100+. Im tired of FBs crybaby bullshit. They're the biggest thing going on right now and they STILL bitch.

They just bitch because everyone else has figured out how to make with them but themselves.

MB even states on some offers "no CL posting, fake jobs or apartment leads." Which obviously refer to CRs, but I am sure there are fair warnings on their email submits as well.

I was just checking my email and I received the same email and I was going to post it here, you beat me to the punch... As a CPA network they should use some sort of proxy system to cover their link tracks a bit better as advertising through FB makes up for a big chunk of there income I would assume. Good luck MB or better yet Good Luck MB affiliates advertising on fb.

I can't believe you'd have any issues if you are using their PPC platform to promote your offers - whether they be MaxBounty or others.

My understanding is that the issue that FB has is with people taking advantage of other FB methods to get offers in front of FB members.

this is bad bad news. fb shut down 2 of my pages that didnt spam other but had MB links on there in general. not good.

this is like when they went after CL for hookers posting in the adult section.
fb knows they can handle EVERYONE so they are going after the main companies

I'll tell you what, I got screwed by a CPA offer on Facebook not too long ago. there was a video I wanted to watch, and when I clicked it, it was locked and you had to fill out a survey to watch it.

I completed the survey, and one of the inputs was for my cell phone number. Now, I should have known better, but I figured the worst that could happen would be I'd get a few calls from a telemarketer.

So I went ahead with it. Next thing I know, my cell phone account is charged $9.95! I called them to find out about the charge, and they told me I subscribed to some premium video and ringtone sharing site and it was $9.95 per month!

I have no idea how it happened. All I did was complete a small survey to unlock a video and enter my cell number, and I'm charged $9.95 per month and subscribed to some service!

I don't rememebr the bname of the site, but it wasn't MB. For all I know, it WAS a MB or other CPA offer. I completely understand FB trying to rid itself of that crap.

that sneaky shit pissed me right off. I immediately canceled the account, and proceeded to call a rep from the website and tell them to suck my sweaty balls and if they ever tried anything like that again I'd sue the ass off of them. Not that I would over $9.95, but it felt good all the same!

That type of shit has to stop!

Here is one article on it : http://www.techworld.com.au/article/365087/facebook_sues_over_free_gift_card_dislike_button_scams/

Some bits in there are f-ing terrible. Let me summarize... :

Well. That obviously aint going to go down well with facebook.

I am suspecting that CPA1ead/Adscend are praying right now. I know atleast CPA1ead actively told their users to create facebook pages etc. After the big movie site shutdown, it was the only way to keep ******* afloat..

Lol. How terrible is that reporting. They look at the EPC, and think that is actually what they get. And then they look at some ridiculous gambling lead, that pays out $115. And report thats what people got paid...

Did you expect the reporter to actually understand how CPA leads work? Gimme a break, if he did, he sure as hell wouldn't be writing these articles :)

You expect a financial reporter to not know how the stock market works?

I think a similar thread has been already opened with the same topic.
