I don't know if it's allowed, or not, or if anyone asked for something like that.
I am just curious what staff think about such idea.

For example, I have a website I want to sell. Then I am setting minimum price $500, time 30 days
and for 30 days people from BHW can "bid" writing for example $550, $600, $750...
Selling to guy who give more

Same would be with some method, for example someone have super cool thing, but he want to sell only to one guy to not saturate his stuff.
Then users can bid to get it

How do we stop the sellers from artificially inflating the price by placing fake bids using alt accounts?
ask them for their credit card, their social security number and a picture of them holding a card that says "BHW ROCKS" :D

probably just a proof of funds will minimize most artificial inflation tho.

I think it's not the issue, the main goal is to provide the biggest value for seller, not for buyer.
If seller want to sell website for $2000, he might be wrong, because there is someone who want to pay $5000...but he is also scared to set up bigger price, because he might not find buyer.
It's not only about websites. There are plenty topics on BHW, where buyers are looking for method to get something. Gads, yt upload limits and many other stuff. What if someone have legit stuff and want to sell to just one person? Letting him to get the biggest value would be nice :)

That’s a great idea.
...and nothing to change in rules. Except staff confirmation if we can do it or not ;)
All BST must have a price. When minimum price is set up and there are clear rules, to bid for example 10% initial value as minimum, would be nice and without spam.

Wrong kind of business model you’ve got there.

You didn’t address how fake bids can be prevented.

Also, I think you should just figure out what your product is worth and then fix the price. Bringing a bidding system into the marketplace will definitely not be a good idea.

Thanks for the suggestion. Whilst this sounds like a simple idea in theory, the devil is in the detail as some of you are starting to flesh out about above, we looked at this a few years ago when we were considering a Flippa style platform for BHW Before we settled on the new marketplace. Due to the scale of the forum, which is the scale you’d want to expose such offers to our millions of users each year, manually running this isn’t really an option.

We’re currently focussing on Marketplace 2, when we have this live then we’ll take a look and see if we can add something like this based on demand from the community.

It’s not a no never, it’s a no not right now.

Thanks Again for the suggestion, keep them coming.
