Only allow Jr Vip with a certain post count and rep to allow a telegram id or any username id to be used to take the transaction off of bhw. I can see keep it all on bhw if you want to make it simple, but sometimes that's not convenient.

Why take it to telegram at all? There's a functional messaging service here. Any files can be shared on mega or any other BHW approved file sharing site.

@NirvanaWolf
If you do all your work on here and if you're doing dirt hmm.
Programmer could not want their software on a public server could be one reason. I know a programmer who is like that keeps things very secret.

That would only really just introduce more needless spam to the forum
If someone can't even share a username for their telegram or any username id to take the transaction off of bhw it would stop things. If it's a violation of rules which many are in place here why and how can't it be enforced?

We recommend keeping the discussion on BHW and off any third-party messaging app to ensure you're covered for step 1 of our dispute resolution process. Recently, we have added that to the approval message on every new MP thread to underline this.

Why? Well, you benefit from seeing the history of the buyer you're purchasing from. You can get a little view into how they present themselves and whether that's the sort of person you want to deal with. For example, Do they just post "bump" or post informative content that benefits them AND the community and engage in discussions in a manner that works for you?

If you walked into someone on the street and all they said to you was "Bump" or "20% off discount"... would you spend your money with them? Or would you spend it with someone who's listening to you, maybe in their office, with a team around them, showing you a strong history of their recommendations and actionable content out there whilst maybe making your a coffee (black no sugar please) ? Telegram specifically isn't the issue here it's scammers in general. We don't have an exclusive on scammers. It's a worldwide problem. But @Zwielicht did write a strong newbie guide article on it back in 2018 How to Avoid Scams which could help when making your buying decisions here on BHW.

I should also point out that selling outside the marketplace is against our TOS for this reason (and many more).
We run a stringent review process on the marketplace to ensure the seller can deliver what's advertised. If they can't continue to deliver at the same level or higher than they did when their service was reviewed, then we have the Dispute Resolution section to keep the marketplace up to date. This goes a small way to keep scammers off the forum (we have many other methods). Try and follow the above and you should benefit from a reduction in scams. I appreciate it may be a little inconvenient to message on the forum sometimes but it's your call if that extra step is important to you or not. As my Gran used to say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink".
