Just had a totally absurd experience with Maxbounty. I asked by AM a question, then logged into my account (probably I was connection to my VPN).

My account manager than asked me to provide my password to him via Skype, otherwise my account would be locked. And refused, and of course, my account was actually logged. Only after writing it to him on Skype did he agree to reactivate it.

What a serious blunder of IT security! You NEVER ask someone to provide a password over Skype.

Just WHAT is going on with these guys?!

People create account and sell. They don't even bother to use same user name , email and address of the buyer, because accounts are already created.
That's why.

Don't send your password on Skype, it's a fake Maxbounty manager skype. This happened to me before, so I can tell you for sure. Never send your password on Skype. You will lose your account. You asked a fake manager on Skype the question, not your real manager. People make fake skype accounts of the managers.

Then how were they able to block my account when I didn't send them my password? And why was it the same Skype address I found when I logged into my account and contacted the guy in the first place?

Okay, so this was very cleverly done. I must have some virus on my PC, because the contact came from my Maxbounty client area. Saw my correct contact at Maxbounty a few contacts under him in my Skype list, and the fake one has not been online for the last 13 hours; ever since he phished me.

*sigh*

Nah, you 100% messaged the fake manager. They are very clever.

VERY strange. I remember 100% that I logged into the client area, clicked on the Skype contact, and the "fake" contact opened up. Will definitely wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Also, my business partner has a Linux notebook prepared for me, so no more loggin into anything business related using my Windows PC.

@AkariYukimura Messaged my actual Maxbounty AM and he reset my account.

Nah, no one hacked you dude. You copied and paste the skype contact and the fake manager account came up first and you messaged them. Telling you this, because the exact thing happened to me before.

But why, why, why the hell was my MaxBounty account blocked when the fake support guy told me he would do it?!
