Would be pretty pointless.
Why, I think Matt actually does a pretty good job. He is very open and transparent with algorithmic changes and points of concern. He has even given me personal recommendations on a site before.
I think we could have had someone far worse than Matt at the head of the search quality team.

While I won't say he outright lies, he leaves out the truth so much that it becomes equally deceptive. I personally would also not term what he does as open and transparent although no disrespect to anyone who feels he is.

Imagine (for just a second) a world without Matt Cutts - you try searching for airplane tickets to Thailand on G and all you have splashed all over the first 100 pages of SERPS is MFA microsites and autoblogs full of 300 word spinned-to-death articles like "Avail Cheap Airplane Tickets in Boise Idaho" or "Understanding Cheap Airplane Tickets in Dallas-Forth Worth". Good luck trying to actually find a website that sells tickets. Next thing would be people stopping using search engines and there would be no business for any of us at all. I am not saying I believe in everything Matt says (having been slapped by G a few times), but without him people would have no confidence in search results at all. We can still get away with a lot of black- and greyhat - if you have a website with quality content and you don't go overboard with the stuff we do, you'll make money sooner or later...

I think its a bit generous to say he's doing a good job because he HASN'T dstroyed Googles customer base by offering a shitty service.

While i understand he is making our jobs harder, he also has a job to do....Why take business so personal?
Another thing, you people sit here talk shit about him, but as a previous post said..We could have far worse people at the helm than Matt, even tho he lies by omission..
I guarantee if Matt left and some other Dickhead was in his position you guys would be bohooing that Matt left..
