Massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon

Any idea what was the cause?

Edit: Officials are blaming highly explosive materials stored in a warehouse for six years.
 
Wow, that is a massive explosion, what could have caused that?
 
Sad times. Saw references to the Tianjin explosion in China, and they looked similar. Looks like an industrial incident, with a hint of recklessness. Tragic news for a country that was already struggling economically this year. I really hope the people can recover from this quickly.
 
Yeah. They had some explosives in the docks for more than 6 years and they haven't taken any action with that. Those are only the consequences which are bad. Also they were already hitten by an economical crisis that was even worst than the one they were after 15 years of civil war
 
i think it was a warehouse full of nitrate i think from what i heard
