Massive Authority Site Layout Suggestions?

I am starting a few massive authority sites. I have had some pretty big ones but this one (and many more to come) is going to have well over 100 pages within the first month and then drip fed 10-20 each and every month. What do you guys suggest do? I am already set on Wordpress obviously. But for the homepage layout...

Should I use some sort of magazine theme? Should my latest posts be put on the homepage like a blog or should it be more of a classic website style? Let me know your suggestions!

definately a blog style if you are going to add 20 articles each month.

More of a classic website layout...you can keep a blog for recent posts or if you are just adding updates.

The main meat of your content should be laid out in menus and each sub-section of that particular topic should be in a drop down but kept within the same main topic. That way your authority site will stay organised and each menu in itself builds up authority by itself

Exactly what I was thinking of. Should I like my menu links to the designated category of the website or a post containing that category index?

I usually keep posts and pages separate. Hence why I would have the meat of your website to be listed in links across the top of the website, each of these with sub menus of articles that complete that section(although expandable as you like)

My posts I would treat like a blog. Have as many categories as you like and obviously you can put each post in several categories. I usually leave between 4 and 8 posts on my front page so there is some eye candy for visitors to look at before they get into the main website.

In the niche you are about to enter, how many of the top 10 sites on Google are Wordpress sites?

Not many I'll bet

Wordpress is not an obvious choice for authority site building

Yes blog style is the look for 20 posts per month but i wonder how the magazine style is going to look!! Good luck with it mate.

Honestly I just got seo maximuss and just put articles in myself I don't really have any seo at the moment the articles seem to look after them selves they get top 5 for the keywords
