Mass posts delete SEO effect ?

Hi , I did R 301 to my recent site and keeps my old site post on it , some post back to another R301 that dropped two years ago .
on that time many of my post were ranking well and bring me big traffic , but my old site take hard slap from latest G update . so I R301 to another domain .
I notice looks like G penalize all those old posts ever on the new domain , like it consider it as spam or non original contents , since the old site (posts source) expired long time ago . and for sure many spam blog ere copying from it .
few days ago I delete almost all post from that domain (about 80 post ) , and I'm thinking to create new post every two days to keep it refresh and raise it contents size .
anyways all my major keywords are on safe but I still wonder if this size of 404 could give me bad impact on G eyes .

Losing pages loses you impressions in Google typically. Size is a helpful thing, so decreasing the size of your site is rarely a 'good thing' for you. However, if it was problematic content, then quickly replacing it may not be a bad longterm idea if you don't mind the work. Just make sure its readable and unique.

I just did quick search on it I found many people gaining ranking after they get ride tons of post , BTW I already tried it but on small amount , and saw decent increase on ranking .
but this first time I delete more than half of my website posts .

in facts I'm one of few people wrote 1000+ words HQ post on every post since I have bachelor degree on the niche I wrote about .
the only thing I was missing on past is having strong and so called "high quality links" , and since my niche are competitive I was getting many negative SEO and MA from Google . so have to start over every year or two .

Deleting a page will cause a 404 error because it could be linked to from another site or be cached in the search engine’s index. 404 Errors cause you rankings to suffer. Site’s with many errors are looked upon unfavorably by Google and can be penalized.
