Hi everyone. I am new to the forums. I am also a programmer. Not like the world doesn't have enough of them.

I have been trolling for a while, read a gentlemen's article about how xrumer's mass pm sucks. Never tried it, I did write my own like it appears he has.

Mine only works with phpbb. (like my screenname now?) Anyway, a vast majority of phpbb forums, have a default 20 second timeout between messages. So, here is what I do that both makes my program unique, and fast as hell.

Of course, I scrape their profile page (takes no time at all with a fast connection) and make sure they are not admin or a moderator. Let's avoid those. There are several flags that are available to check for this.

I also set an arbitrary post count check. Of course, you could send it to people with greater than 0 posts (so xrumer profiles don't get a message, but who cares, it doesn't cost to send more out) What I do is not send it to people with greater than X posts. Someone with a couple hundred posts is more likely to have more important ties with the board or administrators and will flag you quickly. The goal is to send a message to every person on the board as quickly as possible, without being banned, and/or having your messages deleted. Of course when you scrape the page, grab either their forum name or real name if it is listed so you can make your message more, say, personal :D

Okay, yeah yeah, that all makes sense. Time for the golden idea.

I have my program store multiple logins. Load up 20 login ids and pw with various related names, and have the program go out it. However you scrape or whatever, you have your list of names, bam, send the message. Once it's confirmed, logout. Log right back in with the next id. Immedietely send the next message, log out, repeat. A forum with a 20 second delay, I can then send approximately 25-35 messages per minute instead of the default 3. More accounts for them to ban and try and clean up the mess if that's what they decide to do.

Anyway. Hope that might give some of the developers here some ideas. Hell, maybe even xrumer will implement that with a better pm system (so i've heard)

Nice to meet you all, may you have the highest conversion %'s

That does sound like a great workaround. Now, just make it work with vbulletin and you can sell it! :p

Or give it away for free :p

Good luck to you man. It can be a very powerful tool if you get the right sales copy.

Oh yes, a very powerful CPA tool indeed. Is vbulletin really bigger than phpbb? Decades ago, I used to run the little phpbb forums, still figured they were at the top. Google searches for powered by phpbb pull 240,000,000!

I saw someone on the forums already offers a service for vbulletin. Thought there already is a common solution out there. From my understanding, vb has an option to make the timeout variable. It would just be a little more scraping to find out how long it is and to determine how many accounts you need to beat the piss out of it.

Anyone that is actually working on coding is free to contact me if they get stuck on anything. I've programmed for way to long, and as a plus for some here, english is my first language.

This has been read a lot, not a lot of posts. I guess you have to say something like xrumer sucks to get a lot of feedback :D

I would be interested in this tool to because it's FAR superior to posting on forums. But the two downsides, delay time, and more and more forums restrict newbies PM'ing people.

Get by those two dilemmas and you sir are a god.

I'd be very interested in this tool if you were to develop it. Please keep me/us informed as to whether you're going to go forward and make it yourself.

If it's a matter of financing your time to code it (that is, if you can't develop the time because it takes away from money-making in some way), let me know and I can help out in a JV-style arrangement.

if you really do have a working phpBB bomber - i'd pay money to use it.

    Seriously.

I haven't had any luck finding any.

But make it vbulletin too? you'll be my best buddy.

There must be a little confusion in my post.

I already have my program made for phpbb. The delay time, is resolved with the scenario I used in my first post. Creating multiple logins, and having a hay day.

I definitely will be working on a vbulletin one next based on the responses attached and will attempt a similar method as I mentioned.

I have contacted the admin to become reviewed for sending out mass pm's like oceanz does, but have not heard back from them. For the most part, this is a personal tool though. I'm just sharing my method for the benefit of the community.

The multiple account thing is very useful. I finally found a forum I could Mass pm to with Xrumer and it had a limit of 1 per minute. After 37 minutes and 37 pms I was banned by the webmaster lol

Haha, exactly. I don't know if Xrumer does it or not, but you also HAVE to not send messages to the admins and moderators. In phpbb, there are dozens of tags on pretty any page that has their name listed, included the actual page to send a PM that identifies them as a bad person to send a message too.

Now, skip over those naughty people and get banned in say 5 hours, you could realistically send 6000 messages. Depending on the board, that's going to be some good traffic.
