Mass Mailing to Harvest

I have a few millions targeted e-mails that need to be mailed for the simple sake of a reply. My goal is to mass mail something simple like "Hi...do you remember me?!?" and harvest the reply emails. My original email list is a redirect I guess you could say. I need to bait for a reply which will reveal the true emails that I will extract. I only need about 1000 replies a day for this method so I am guessing maybe 20-30k e-mails out to the inbox. I'm not sure if services like amazon SES or sendy will actually inbox such a short message or non specific message. The beauty of this is that I am not pushing links or offers or spam so I am hoping It may be possible to push such a small amount per day for a couple of weeks.
