I am also looking for bulk email service if you can provide please pm me. thanks

If you decide to but an IP address make sure you take a couple of weeks to do a warmup. You do not want to go full out on a fresh IP address as your delivery rate will definitely be very bad.

One needs to understand the requirements of different application used in email industry, I can notice people confusing email relaying application like PowerMTA with email marketing and list management application like Interspire etc. Good email sender is something best optimized for your unique requirements. Mailchimp, Aweber doesn't suit everyone's needs, some people may need self management solution. So, all depends on your requirements, number of emails to send, and hygiene of your list.

DejaMatt, have read through a number of your posts and you speak a lot of sense when it comes to this area. I would love to pick your brain on this topic because I am the cautious type and my list is already cleansed and ready to go... i don't want to p!$$ it & my hard earned up against a wall.

I was previously using CampaignMonitor on a smaller scale but it is too expensive to maintain usage. So i was thinking about setting up AWS SES, but, as i am relatively new to the nuances of sending to such a large list, i'm hoping for a steer in direction and sending best practices from those of you out there that are more experienced.

As said; would love to hear from dejamatt and others who have experience with sending to legitimate list of high value contacts which number in the <500k region and how they have set up large scale mailers for maximal deliverability.

Cheers

CharlieMike

Be careful when buying VPS/Dedicated servers. You'll VERY OFTEN get a trash IP range. When you get a server, run your IP through some blacklist checking programs (like mxtoolbox.com ) If people are offering bulkmail servers, the IP range won't hit the inbox, hell it probably won't even hit the server. If you are getting 5xx errors back in your mail logs, you'll know you got what you payed for. Bulk mailing does NOT work like this "Load up list, Load up offer, Make money". If you think it works like that, be prepared to lose thousands of dollars. Build a legit list or try bulk mailing on a SMALL volume and you'll have some success. It's a LOT of work. Try to get good at one provider (maybe you want to focus on AOL first). As time goes on you can branch out. Believe me...mailing is a full-time+ job if you want to make money at it. There are the mailers making $500/month and there are the mailers making $100k+/month. And the $100k+/month guys are watching their campaigns/servers/creatives/lists VERY carefully.

Dejamatt this is some good stuff. Is any of this stuff still accurate?
