Mass email Sender

I am looking for something that I can use to email the 2k list I scraped of a certain type of local business.

I was going to email them saying they can download a report made for them detailing how they can use the internet to attract more customers.

Once they opted into my list, I was then going to email them about google places and link to a video I have made showing why the internet is so important and a form on the right hand side asking for their name and telephone number.

I really need a way to send bulk emails though, as I do not have a clue how to do it.

Are there any available on this forum? I did a search but didn't find anything.

FYI if you send to that list it would be considered spam and would be easily traced back to you. With that said there are a few ways to do it. The easiest is through gmail or ymail as a BCC in batches.

Also as an FYI as a marketer you should consider success around a 1 percent response so that would be about 20 people.

From my perspective the risk/reward isn't there to send to my own product.

Thoughts from anyone else?

Look in the email marketing section, there is a desktop app there called Mail Mascot, perfect for what you are looking to do...

I'm not a fan of mail through BCC to 2k. That will get your account shut down quickly.

As cane mentioned, go over to www.emailingapp.com and pick up a copy of Mail Mascot. Use coupon mm74 to save $20 (if it still works). It has a lot of nice features that folks new in IM will be able to understand.

Mail though Mail Mascot and once your list is cleaned, move it to Constant Contact or another company. You do not want to do this until the list is cleaned and unsubscribes and bounces have been removed.

Can you send me a copy of the report? I'd like to look at it as I am looking at that direction for a few local businesses around me.

Ah.

Don't people do this all of the time? There are a tonne of new google places scrapers out there which all email the prospects in mass, can't they then get in trouble for creating the product and the users for using it?

There are plenty of top internet marketers using those products, why is that any different?

I don't have any of those so can't use one. Is this list useless then? I don't want to get banned or worse..

I agree with CoyoteAssasin that a 2k list is small fry but at the same time you should be aware of this.

Just because other people do it doesn't mean that it is right.(Sometimes I feel so second grade saying sh*t like that) Also it is not illegal to build a software program or scraper. It is just sending the email that is illegal. The big thing to remember is that you need to clean the list.

I would use a program like Live Email Verifier to find dead emails and then run them through a program like was mentioned above. But don't use anything that can be tied back to you for the initial blast. Once you have cleaned the list and gotten all the optins then you can send them as many emails as you want.

When sending an email, you have to include one of two options.

1) The user has to have opted in
2) You have to give the ability to opt out.

As long as you have a valid unsubscribe link, you are good to go.

It is illegal to scrape emails from a website that prohibits this in the their tos like cl.
