If I need to post a ton (potentially thousands) of posts to a wordpress blog (probably through xmlrpc) and want them all to be backdated, is there a tool out there to do this? Preferably, it would allow me to set a time frame I want them to be posted in and would either progressively post them within that time span or randomly post them within that time span. For example, if I had 1000 posts that I wanted backdated starting three years ago, it would essentially go through and make one post backdated to each day in that time span.
I'm considering an experiment in the coming months and need this capability. Is there a tool out there that will do this or will I need to create one if I want it automated? It doesn't seem like it would be that complicated, but if it's already out there I don't want to re-invent the wheel...
