Marketing my new APP

I'm just in the process of developing an APP and was wondering the best ways to market and promote it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Like some info about your "App". Kind of hard for us to help you when you can't even help with details.
 
Nope , not spam dude.

Generally just need some tips.

APP is instagram related(not a like4like app) , so instagram would be a good start to promoting it , but im just looking for some other tips.

All you need do is submit your app to itunes. That's the first step you should take. Once done, you can create a website and market your app if you like or SEO your app's url for some relevant keywords in it's description on the app store.

Ok great. Even though my app is super simple , and theres not a hell of a lot i can write about it , do you think i should defnitly make a website for it , or would social media be good enough ?

If there's not much you can write about it, does it offer any real value to users?

Well its a very simple yet effective APP , so yes. However it is the 1st app ive developed so im just a beginner in this game , after some help.

Well - good luck with your secret venture.

I suggest, however, that no success will come of it with your current attitude.

I make the point that ideas are entirely worthless, and that the money is made in the execution - and given that you're on here asking help from a bunch of strangers on the internet for one of the most basic parts of any business (marketing), it doesn't seem as your execution is anywhere ahead of 'everyone' who might 'steal your idea'.

Once your app comes out (if indeed it ever does) it will be copied in a matter of days... and then what? You've got nothing.

My prediction is that your app will never launch, or if it does, you won't make money from it. Don't take that the wrong way - it's not an attack on you, rather, a prediction based on having 'seen this movie before'.

Haha ok , if thats not an attack on me i dont know what is. I understand what your saying and i appreciate constructive critisism(not that this is) , all im after is some general begginer tips on promoting a new app , - everyone has to start somewhere , and im open to any help i just dont want to post my APP here as its only half done.

Start off with social media. Check out sites like reddit, stumbleupon. Also try out facebook advertising if you can afford it.
 
If its good, apple may feature it in their featured apps section which is free. Just don't fall for the trap of buying 5 star reviews... Apple are not stupid and know the average low ratios of reviews left per download.
Do some facebook etc promotion around it. If it is useful it will snowball naturally....

Oh ok , how do they select apps for this section , downloads/ratings ?

Yeah i saw a post on buying reviews , so i wont fall for that haha. Ok well i think ill definitly start of with social media for promoting.
