Im looking to purchase the Makery them from themeforest and would like some advice on paypal issues that may arise.

Basically the theme is a market place that allows users to create their own store.

Some thing like this

1) Customer purchases from vendors store
2) I get paid
3) I forward payment to vendor (minus my commission)
4) Vendor send product to customer

Question ) What if the customer opens dispute, wont I be out of pocket as I have now paid vendor.

Am I missing something.

Your PayPal got negative best to pay vendor after dilivery of product

Even if I pay vendor after shipping, there still a chance the customer will open dispute.

If there any way round this.

Im really looking for a marketplace theme that allows me to invoice the vendors. much like ebay..

This is not a difficult problem to solve. Once your client pays ask your vendors to send you an invoice for the TANGIBLE good, nothing abstract. Ensure that you do not pay via PayPal balance. Use your credit card or bank for all invoices. If your customer initiates a refund you also initiate a refund from your vendor. If he does not comply PayPal should accept your dispute and grant your refund.

Please let me know if you need any help moving forward.

Thanks for this, but could be a bit of a pain when dealing with allot of vendors.

Does anyone know of a theme were the vendor gets paid directly, cutting out the middle man (me).

What you are essentially asking for at this point is an affiliate program. From what I can gather, that option has more potential for hardship...

IMO If you find someone that will facilitate the entire transaction you are exposing yourself to greater risk. What are you going to do when your largest supplier decides not to pay because you earned an incredible amount and greediness sets in?

At that point they have your customer list, direct payment from the client, and a better idea of your techniques and etc. The last thing you want to do is cut yourself out. To remain relevant in a business to business arrangement is to always possess something the other party wants or needs, yet do not have the capability to acquire themselves. Leverage. If you go this route protect yourself with a solid contract and/or non disclosure agreements if relevant.

IMO you should facilitate the sales of whatever product you are pushing and deal with the occasional refund which is really not difficult to deal with at all. Your first objectives to maximize longevity and success are to build a solid customer base, brand and reputation. At this point you are representing the product. NOT the supplier.

Once your income permits, you immediately scale up by private labeling or custom manufacturing similar or same product(s). At this point you will maximize your margins through the loyal following you cultivated through charisma, customer service and reliability as they would have no reason to discontinue business with you.

What niche are you in anyway? You can PM me if you want. My advice is free.

Again thanks for the feedback.

Im looking to launch market place type website, each vendor will have his/her own products, I want to take a percentage of the sales (if possible), but dont want the whole transaction going through my account, then forwarding to proceeds (minus commission ) to the vendor.

I was wanting all transactions and questions about the products to be dealt with by the vendor.

I dont think an affiliate system would you as I am not selling a product as such.
