Any of you into college basketball?
I'm not into college ball but, I am into learning how to monetize it, being that it's seasonal like other sports I am not sure how to do these types yet ( i saw a post about how to do it somewhere) but I'm not working on it.
Any quick ideas at the moment would of course be appreciated
since were on the subject.
I think it's tough to monetize march madness IMO. I think 95% of people go to their normal sports sites for info such as ESPN, CBS, Bracketology, etc.
I did see one site that had a Newsletter Opt-in and you would receive free bracket picks. That could be one way and then just send them gambling offers.
The other issue is that most people are just playing free brackets in their offices or with friends online. Most people are not gambling on the games, thus conversions to sportsbooks will be pretty poor.
I agree but I also think that individual players can be monetized, just like
trend news as long as you're established or can get on front page (hint: blogger) but amazon/ebay items might be one way,
with jersey's, books, etc but breaking news would be the traffic funnel,
I would think, and would need to be setup early in the year meaning research, research, research and find the star, just like american idol and next top model, I'm sure there's guys here making tons off that shit. I just hope to be one of them soon.
but I am just a noob and trying to brainstorm with like minded people, if my thinking is wrong please show me the error of my ways.
Hey guys just hopping in real quick.
There is a brand new offer on MB think it came out yesterday and it's for march madness. its a free jersey of any team offer and pays like 1.20 per email submit and 3.00 per address submit so there is potential.
I think I am going to post on CL for tickets of my rival team (The KU JayHACKS) and when they respond for the tickets and I'll 'em hit with that offer. Screw the rival team fans over and make a little cash.
What do you guys think?
Here is one of the final four teams.....
I think the fastest way to do this since the games start on the 18th is to throw up a quick site with a few pages about the bracket and twitter the hell out of it. It may be too tough to get it indexed and ranking before the first round. The reason is that after people lose their first round bracket, no one cares until the Elite Eight.
Bump for the 1 day of the Tournament & for the first K-State Wildcat victory of the tourney as well. Who has the Madness?.......
9 for 12 right now with my picks. Watching Kansas right now. They better not lose to Lehigh or it will seriously be MADNESS
That's pretty good on the picks. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do a bracket this year.
If KU lost to Leigh, I would be so HAPPY I would cry:biglaugh: I would talk shit to a lot of JayHACK fans. Queers...
They managed to beat Lehigh, but lose to Northern Iowa, destroying my bracket. I had them actually winning the whole thing. At least I'm still in first place in my pool.
I don't know if I would be able to stand this much basketball without having a bracket pool. I'm a football guy at heart.
YESSS!!! The gayU JayHacks did it again!... This is one of the many reasons why I hate this team, and I could go on for days with a list.....
Anyway, ONE time for my K-State Wildcats making it to the Sweet 16!!!! They play the winner of Xavier & Pitt tomorrow. We beat Xavier 71 - 56 earlier this year so I guess we we'd like to see them again....
I think they are on a road to the Final 4 this year!!!!
@MVF Yeah, I love basketball, I can still play too.
I have K-State making the final four.
I have Pitt winning and K-State beating Pitt. Then I have K-State playing Syracuse, but losing to Syracuse. Hopefully Syracuse wins today.
I am 100% in the West Region, but not doing so hot in the others. How many people in your pool? Mine is 15 of friends and family.
