Many Ecommerce Stores, SEO & Adwords journey

It's been a great year for us, we will hit $5m in revenue, with over 70 employees, and one of our sites is now making $100k/mo now in revenue, while it averaged less than $1k/mo last year. I am excited about this site because we have over 2 million words on it, it's an authority site, and it's no where close to its ceiling.

What an amazing journey!! Truly inspiring!

Got some questions for you:
1. Haven't you tried Instagram Influencers?
2. You said you're filling both your categories pages and product pages with content, right? What kind of keywords do you target in categories and product pages?
3. Finally, I'm working on an ecom site where I believe that there is not high competition because of the number of links the #1 Google page result has + I find that most of the ecom sites in the first page of Google are <1 year old + low to none RD (or some shitty and spammy links) + no content whatsoever. I built two high quality niche edits for a page where most of the sites have no links but still in #80. can I PM you my site if you got some time to take a look.

1. A few. Haven't had much success.

2. Categories tends to go for the higher volume/more generic keywords, that has enough different types of products to satisfy a category page, while product pages tends to go for the more specific, lower volume keywords.

3. That does sound like a decent niche. How are you doing now? Sure, you can PM me your site.

This is proof that SEO is the long term to bank from eCommerce ( not paid ads ).

I will start soon my own eCommerce brand and I will rely only on SEO, I have some questions:

1- Is your store(s) only one product or niche?
2- Do you write articles on the Shopify blog or you use another platform ( WordPress ) and add a link to the Shopify store?
4- How many words on your articles?
5- How many words on your categories/products descriptions?
6- Did you build PBNs or you bought them?

Congrats for the success and I hope you reach more milestones :)

1. All are niches, none are a single product

2. Using shopify. But to enforce the silo's, I do have "related articles" etc. under my collection pages. If the collection page has articles that cover the same topic.

3, 4. We just use surferSEO. We generally just go with what other people are doing - and this is a repeatable process, so it's less of a headache from the perspective of running a business.

5. I build my own. I have over 800 PBNs. At the start of this journey, I bought PBN links. They worked at the time. I got a manual penalty a year later for two of my main sites. But that penalty only lasted for a month, and rankings came back instantly. We slowly replaced the lost pbn links with our own pbn links. Slowly over time, we build upon our PBNs to make them have an actual purpose, rather than being a another shitty pbn. I think it's worth investing in them if the money sites that they are linking to, are making money.

At the start of your journey you mentioned buying back links. Where did you buy these from?

Any recommendations?

One hell of a journey mate. Massive congratulations to you.

If you were to start from scratch, how/where would you go about learning SEO and all its intricacies (PBNS, SEO terms, etc)?

IS there a guide that you followed when you were learning?

I'd love to know this too

Would be great to hear about an update.

OP, have you considered venturing into Software As A Service, using the same strategy to build up the site? What's your thoughts on this vs ecommerce.
