Many backlinks from one blog comment

I recently made a blog comment backlink on a website in my niche. I linked back to my site and once it got accepted and index it shows on majesticseo that i have 6000+ backlinks from that one website. I'm assuming its from a recent comment plugin on each page.

but is it harmful? I cant get my website in the top 500 in google when its 44 in yahoo and bing.

This happens too often. Blogs have a sitewide widget that propagates your link. Give it a few weeks and see if things stay that way.

They are probably no-follow, and they will disappear in a few weeks.

As others have told you the sidebars on some blogs show the most recent comments, which in turn is your link.

As that changes all of the links will be removed, with the exception of the page you commented on.

Make a few more comments to push your link off the widget if you're having trouble.
