Manually Reviewed Article Directories

I am looking to compile a list of very high quality - exclusive article directories or web properties that are free to submit to but do not accept any spun content, any duplicate content, and the articles are manually reviewed by their editors - and you can include at least one backlink to your website.

I want to test and compare - after penguine updates- the efficiency of writing just 10-20 unique articles and submitting them to high quality exclusive properties (that are not being spammed by spammy articles), compared to the mass article spun and distribution model that is currently being used.

I will obviously share the details with my fellow bhw members, if you are interested.
