Manual link building: Who here's doing it now?

Auto linking is NOT dead. You just gotta use it in a smarter way.

At times, I do manual links too. It works but it takes a lot of your time.

I have been using Tier 1 Web 2.0 and High PR links with manual work. But other than that I am using all automated stuff and they work real good imo. I usually use Senuke and Ultimate demon mostly. And they work extraordinarily well. But for some social stuff, I go to fiverr too.

I have been using blog comments very seriously to build my rankings before Pengiun it was used to getting faster results now the results have slow down.

For some of my personal sites I do the link building process manually. what's now????

Manual link building is been always the best SEO method and I personally feel web 2.0 creation and blog commenting is the best way to give a solid boost to SERP

You can't get wrong with manual link building. I also have a feeling (based on tests) that after Penguin, sometimes LESS links is better than more, in terms of ranking, and it doesn't matter if we speak about manual links from high quality sites or any other links.

On the other hand, there are for sure people who use tools but one would never recognize their link from the manual one :). I am not that skilled, so...

Always have some manual links.

I have 2 tier one's to most of my sites. A manual one and an automated one.
I use 100% unique (write once, post once) content on the manual one and very good content on the automated.

Overall my sites are just too big to deep link manually. I create 6 new URL's a day, and deep linking them with a meaningful number of links as well as ongoing linking to my root domain just isn't possible to do without automation. I would have to guest post say..ooh 100 times a day. I'm just not going to do that.

If you have one small site on a modest to low competition phrase - manual is probably the way to go.

If you have many sites, a few large sites or are looking to tackle tough competition then I would automate for sure.
These days where adding fresh regular content to anything but micro sites is almost essential, added to the need to deep link to everything you add - bith for URL rank and to establish ownership of the content means that for many IM business models guest posting is not a viable proposition.

Like everything on the internet. It's the ideal solution for those for whom...it's the ideal solution.
No two people have the same site, no two site profiles are best promoted with the same method.
But guest posting is truly excellent for many - and of no value at all for others.

I love manual comments because the chance that they are going to stick is way bigger and i learn something by actually reading the post!!

Adding backlinks manually will make the adding process naturally. However, I am wondering does the manual link building take long time than automatic building process?

Hey Scritty, you mention if we're going for tougher comp. or even large sites that we should definitely automate that. In what way you say should we automate? Automate backlinks or what?

cheers :)

Well, of course manual link building takes a longer time than auto.
Automated link building is designed to speed things up and save you time.

You know I'm back to manual link building but it just doesn't compare with blasting IMHO. Unfortunately with blasting, you risk getting delisted. So with clients it's always a struggle to get them the best SEO results with manual linking -- then they complain about getting outranked by blackhatters...just the name of the game

There will be a day when google other search engines will be almost smart as we are. Then all (most) blackhat will be in trouble. But There is also chance that blackhat will be ''smarter'' who knows
In long therm safest and most acurate for advert is know exactly when and what you are posting, from where your backlinks are etc
