Manual CPC vs Automatic bidding

Hi all,

What is your experience with Manual CPC strategy VS Automatic bidding ?

I am trying both, but can't see a pattern or draw any conclusion at the moment to determine which one is the more profitable.

Manual CPC = setting a bid individually for each keyword + seeing what is the top of page bid requirement individually
Automatic Bidding = no limits or limit all keywords to a specific CPC
