Hello fellow Blackhatters :)

Manual blog commenting is only a part of my link building activities, but it was always very important to me.

I am using manual blog commenting since mid 2011. It was always working really great (my links were from pages with low OBL (usually not more than 20 OBL), pr3+). I remembered about anchor diversity. Unfortunately, since the beginning of June I have a feeling that this technique gives significantly poorer results. Do you also feel that since June this type of links are not working so well?

On what kind of CMS do you manual comment?

Let's take Wordpress as an example. Even if the link is ********, you have now "rel=me" in the link. This makes the link a self-vote and reduces the link strength quite a lot.

In link building with free links, you have to do s.th. where you are "first".

Same as with the tumblr trick. In the beginning it was a great way for high PR links. When someone made a fool-proof tutorial and shared in on bhw and what not, it got saturated.

I'm trying to comment on all possible platforms that aren't saturated. Some of my links come from sites with only one comment. Maybe a very very small part of my comments comes from wordpress.

I asked this question because before June this kind of links were really powerful, and now I have a feeling that they are weaker.

These banklinks are powerfull from my end. We work on them this month and getting great results till now. May be some other types of links are effecting you. You never now Google Panda and Google Penguin Updates . :S

When doing blog commenting, is it your intention only to get a link or wouldn't it be better to aim to also network with those you are posting comments on? Sorry if I am assuming you only want a link, but with the way things are moving, not just how things have changed, I would think the long lasting opportunity SEOs have with blog commenting is to also network with those you post comments on.

Let me know what your strategy is, it would be great to hear.

It still works for me. But if am going to spend the time finding relevant high pr blogs to comment to I'd rather ask to guest post or for a blogroll link.

It works, however, i have trouble trying to find relevant do follow blogs for my sites.
