Manual Backlinks, Share Your Experience

Most of you do SEO via softwares (Scrapebox, Xrumer, Senuke etc...)

But when you do SEO manually, how do you make quality backlinks ?

Social Media / Profile links etc etc.. Everything you can share with us.

I have to do SEO manually too and that would be useful for me.

Social media such as Facebook, twittter and Social bookmarking are the only things i automate because they are so boring, repetitive and make you want to kill yourself :p. Everything else that includes content thats over 200 words like web 2.0s, blog posts and even comments i do manually to make it look natural and google loves that shit.
 
First thing I always do is check competitor backlinks. Even though I use automated software this is a must and every one of my new websites along with client websites get this treatment. They will usually be very relevant and the most powerful. Use something like open site explorer to check out the link profile of the first ranked site for your keyword.

next I harvest URLs with scrapebox related to my niche and sort by PR. I try and get on as many of these websites as I can.

then comes web2.0 building like Wordpress.com, blogspot, etc.

then build links to the links that you have already created. These tier 2 links are a mix of social bookmarking, web2.0, social network, blog posts and whatever else I can get.

I never use software for link building. I do manual, old school style. I talk to people, I send them mails, some answer, some not. But when a quality blog approve your article and you get a link or 2 on their high PR blog you feel like you actualy did something. If everybody was doing this internet would be a better place, but I guess people wanna get rich over night....I am just saying

Nice share .... What do you do with harvested links ? You're just looking for AA blogs ?
 
It's best to manually build your tier 1 links as they should be quality anyway then use automated tools to build tons of links to those tier1 sites
 
Dont forget press releases, they can be a bit pricey but its a nice google approved way to get links from sites that carry news as well as sites that scrape content throughout the web. Its one of the only non-automated way to get bulk links short of going viral.

And PR's sometimes generate sales on their own for you.

I would actually prefer not posting on AA blogs because they are generally spammed like crazy. I go for quality related comments that require moderation because they hold the most weight.

When I scrape related websites with scrapebox I don't just look for blogs - I look for any website I can possibly get a link on. Make sure whatever you are posting is quality content so it doesn't just get deleted in a couple days :).

Also don't overlook guest posts. When your doing your high PR scraping you should contact the website owners to ask if you can write a high quality guest post with a link back to your website. Those links are a bit more work but they're huge!
 
Nice strategies, I scraped some AA list and they were spammed to death!
