Hey,

I just had a idea and wanna hear your opinion/experience with this.

People often use autocomplete when they are searching for a certain topic. Is there a way to push some terms by fake searches, so a given search term is on top of the auto completion?

Lets say I rank on Pos 1 for "weight loss guide" and googles autocompletion looks somewhat like this:

1# weight loss journey
2# weight loss recipes
3# weight loss guide
4# and so on

Wouldn't Google just think "weight loss guide" is more important then the other terms, if it just gets more searched?

Looking forward to hear your opinion on this

Nice idea.. I guess if you can fake-search some terms a lot it will become the autocomplete for that niche :)

Nope! I use a software that generates traffic, it access the websites by certain keywords. It all seems very natural and the fake traffic that we generate is listed in organic search. If it were true what you wrote, the number of searches in Google Trends would have grown on my niche. Moreover, on the keywords that I have set, the number of searches should have been increased, but in GKP did not.

It doesn't work well because A) Google is good at seeing fake traffic/searches, B) The HUGE volume needed over a LONG time frame to influence Google, and C) Google takes more into consideration that just search volume when suggesting auto complete I think.

It does work, but only if done naturally. I used to spam the shit out of Youtube videos and people would type in search terms that I told them too. I got to the top of autocompletes, but it requires real traffic from all over the world. You could create a bot and pay people a few cents to run it...
