Hi,

I know I can just post a bunch of redirect links from maps.google.* and images.google.* to boost my DR - but are there any tools / services which does this kind of stuff ?

If not, are there any dos and donts when it comes to manipulating ahref DR ?

trust links increase, you can buy them on some exchange

Thanks, that was the keyword I was looking for :) I was trying to search for "ahref boost" here on bhw, but came up non-relevant:)

What would be the purpose of artificially inflating the metrics as they have no effect on your rankings in the search engines?

My brothers boss (which we know privately) hired a no-name SEO-company, and one of the few KPIs was to "raise the DR". For me the metric makes no sense, since they don't have ANY kind of quality coupled with it, just raise the number. But, he just won't listen - the deal with the SEO-company is on.

Last night I was debating with him why this alone was a bad factor (albeit over a few beers..) and we reached "shouting at each other" levels...

My plan is to pump up some cheap crap domain and throw it in his face to prove my point. My guess is it will cost me maximum ~50$, but the looks on his face will be, basically, priceless.

Do you really want to increase the DR?

Try building links from this list.

You won't need GOOGLE Redirections links to manipulate the Metrics.

We're having a dinner party the 18th of June where my brothers boss (DENNIS) is included.. if I could present him with a newly registered site that says "DR IS A SHITTY KPI" - with DR 50+ - I would simply burst into multiple brain-orgasm right there and then...

Thanks - im off registering the domain.. im not sure if "shitty-kpis-dennis.xyz" would be too much in his face :D :D

DR is a pretty worthless metric anyways (as they all are), even if it isn't spammed.

Take for example 2 of my websites with the exact same DR:
Website 1: DR 10, 400+ visitors a month from Google. (literally has no decent links AT ALL, and barely any links in general)
Website 2: DR 10, 5,500+ traffic a month from Google. (has quite a few decent links)

And yet AHREFS says these websites are both DR 10.

Seems accurate, eh? lol

Yet it's still better than DA.

I have 2 test sites, 1 is DA47 and DR is 3.6, the other is a DA51 and DR is 7

... you know... sell lady gaga links on high DR domains.

Except for selling links it has absolutely no value whatsoever.

Links from low OBL sites are always working like a charm.

If you ever upgrade your account and open a sales thread, remind me to never buy a link from you.

In my ignore list already just in case :D

Real men ignore those metrics when looking for links as they are easily manipulated.

Might as well as build a service out on selling high PR links... you'll get the same uninformed buyers.

Ahrefs DR is pretty much derived from RDs. Quote from Ahrefs:
Please note that Ahrefs’ DR metric is purely link-based. We don’t take into account things such as the search traffic of a given website, the age of its domain, or the popularity of a parent brand.

It is also important to note that DR doesn’t account for backlink SPAM. In fact, large amounts of low-quality backlinks may actually increase your DR, not decrease it.
