The only way to receive more reach is really to get more comments/likes/shares.
Usually to get likes, I'll say something like "Like this if you think it's *your reason to like this*".
For comments, I'll ask.
For share, I'll use those when doing contest (e.g; free giveaways, but they must share)

You should be creative enough to find a pic or post or story which can go viral. More people will like it and share it.

Google Image search is an excellent tool to search for images. You can use ADDMeFast to increase the "appearance" that you have a large following. There really is no easy way around it. You have to put some muscle grease into your page. It took me 2 weeks to reach 3,000 likes (mostly because I spend very little time on the computer) for a Business Page I admin. Message me and I'll look into your page for more suggestions. Mind you I'm not a super expert. Just want to help out.
Keep your FB page active. Always post interesting or helpful statuses. You won't get many likes at first but just keep posting and sharing and eventually you will increase your page's likes. Once you have a decent number, you can hold contests to promote participation from members. This is a good way to encourage them to increase your page's exposure to their connections.

always update your page, post something interesting eg: places, religion related, love quotes, videos, pictures instead of focusing on a particular topic only
