alright, so i see all these wordpress magazine themes and they look great. my only question is, a lot of the magazine themes have big preset images or a rotating image on the page (something like yahoo homepage)

so if i was to include images in my post, do i have to resize all of the images i use to correctly fit the theme?

seems like that would be a big pain in the ass. every post you have to resize shit.

if so, any light weight image re-sizers anyone can recommend?

When you upload a picture or image to Wordpress it gives you an option of what size you want it to be.

No, you don't. Most themes' scripts handle that themselves. Just post a quick post to make sure, then delete it. If you have any problems with the free themes, there are a ton of paid ones on thepiratebay and other torrent sites.
Hope I've helped, ask if you have any other questions.
Peace out.

You know, a lot of the wordpress themes (studiopress is especially guilty for this) have eye candy on the home page with the big images... and they're not consistent in which plugin they're using either. When you upload the theme, there's usually a README.txt file that explains which plugin you need to install / configure in order to get it working like the showcase page that made you download it to begin with.

Posting images in a post is handled entirely different. Like raven123 said, try a quick post and see how it works... you'll get to happiness a lot quicker that way than waiting for a response in a forum. Trial and error is the name of the game with the backend of wordpress in my opinion... noone can (will?) really "teach" you, you just need to jump in and do it.
