    Hey guys,

I'm totally new to the IM world. But email lists have intrigued me, so I guess this journey will document building my own list and buying solo ads. Please keep in mind that I am brand new, and this is my first time doing anything like this. Luckily BHW is a great resource :).

I don't have a specific goal in mind, seeing $5 a day to start would be nice. Any tips and pointers are appreciated. Today's goal is to build a squeeze page and get a decent auto-responder picked out.

First question: are there any better alternatives than Aweber? some people have suggested mail chimp. I don't like the fact that Aweber doesn't accept paypal.

Good luck with the journey. Remember to give frequent updates. This might be interesting, I haven't seen an email list journey for some time

I'll look into getresponse as well. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm following a tutorial in the 'making money' section, it outlines more or less what you need to know to have results for an email list. I'll try to keep updates as frequent as possible as well. Might throw in a few of my own twists to make things interesting.

Does anybody use their real id on aweber?

Interspire Email Marketer is the best in my opinion but that's a web application you need to host on your web server, No limitation on subscribers as well as send unlimited emails everyday.. beside this My vote is for Mail chimp because it's good for free users.. it allows 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 or 14,000 mails everymonth in their free Plan.

Whatever you select bro.. remember not to forget spam test before sending newsletters/emails.

I heard about Interspire. It sounded a bit over my head right now, as I am trying to keep everything as simple as possible during my learning process. I am leaning towards mailchimp for now, just to test the waters and see how everything rolls out. As far as a spam test, you mean emailing myself to be sure my links work and hitting inboxes, correct?

Todays update: Signed up with get response. Working on getting everything snazzy looking. Hoping to have everything operational within a week or so. I'll post any hiccups I run into as well. Getresponse has a decent interface for those who are wondering

Dedicating my spare time today to making a squeeze page. Found a thread which outline some principals on high conversions. I'll probably post it here later for constructive criticism. Working on organizing my personal life so I have more time to dedicate to my IM journey.
