basically i know a comic who has moderate success now (compared to huge success 10 years ago) but could be doing a lot better.
he has a comedy special for free on youtube that only has double digit k views
my three main ideas have been either
a) get him upvoted on reddit enough that there is more talk about him and he does better
b) manipulate a certain subreddit where in turn either the fans would be of a similar niche and like him or best case scenario, get him on this podcast
c) making smaller clip videos of his stuff and reuploading it

other than c) i cant think of any organic ways to grow this traffic and even that is hard as its not really creating new content per se, although im sure it would play into youtube algorithms....

i would be very interested in what you media manipulators can come up with, wether it is ideas or services...

thanks in advance

Don't forget social media sites. Twitter could work extremely well, Instagram too. You don't really have to create new content, just repost what you'd post on Youtube. Then there are mobile apps for shorter videos like Boomerang, Coub or TikTok is very popular now.

It shouldn't be too hard to get noticed. For Twitter and Instagram you can do the same approach: follow targeted people in the niche (e.g. the followers of popular accounts, competitors in the niche). When posting use relevant hashtags. Interact with other people's content: like, comment, RT etc. You can also purchase shoutouts from popular accounts.

social media is already being used in forms of twatter and fb. i dont think tik tok or so would be useful as thats not really the target demographic. Also, Im not so interested in doing something that involves daily work like social media, i am looking for more of a singular thing that could help.

Have you/him tried making something timely, that's provocative and controversy?

Reddit is the best if you can make it look natural. Directing the traffic from Reddit to their YouTube videos. In turn, the traffic to YouTube might send the videos to be more recommended to other users. Can just submit from different accounts every couple days to the general video section "Genuinely laughed my ass off at this." or something generic, and direct a few paid upvotes and see what it does.

Please keep us posted with your strategy. Best of luck getting him more publicity.
