I've got a few mostly content based websites I've made in the past and I'm thinking of selling them to make a quick buck. The one I'm currently trying to sell is a basketball site, it has a lot of information (that I made a while back) but I didn't put the time to get traffic to the site and left it alone. If I sell it on flippa how much money can I expect to make with a content-based website that has potential but not much traffic right now? If you want to see the website its teachyourselfbasketball.info I really am trying to make the most money from it so any tips would help thank you..
If you have no traffic on it I wouldn't recommend selling it on Flippa it really won't get much at all. I noticed you have adsense on it. if you have earnings there PM me and I can see if I can find a buyer for you.
Well there is some traffic. In the month of May it had the most traffic but even at that it only had 900 uniques. On adsense I've made $40 bucks so far but thats not much at all. I'm looking to sell it for somewhere around $200 bucks so I'm not looking for a huge buy, is it reasonable to expect somewhere between 200-300 dollars cause I think it has enough potential to make much more than that but I don't have the time..
If you ask me, you can't sell on potential. Every site has potential, that is why they were build in the first place. If your site needs to sell for a decent price, then you need to show them actual numbers. If you don't have much, wait till you do and you can make huge money.
I wouldn't sell on Flippa if I were you, once you take away the fees you won't be left with much. Selling on DP's marketplace with a good thread title and a well-worded sales letter, you may be able to get something for it, probably not much more than $50-60 though.
