He peeps.

I was thinking about maybe using affiliate marketing on Tumblr, does anyone have any experience on it?
Because i am really unsure about if i should put money and time into something i know so little about.

I know there is a way i can automate posting but not sure how to use that properly.

So anyone? thanks

Hi
I've been doing affiliate in dating niche with tumblr for a long time, its obviously possible. However, Tumblr loooovess to ban accounts, and if you're not careful you will fail pretty soon. However, if you protect your identity properly, it can be very lucrative source of traffic. At least nsfw traffic, I honestly don't know how it performs in other niches.
So, if you're going with tumblr, few advices:
1) better to have 10 accounts with 5K followers, than 1 with 50K
2) change your ip for every account (or every 2-3 accounts), either with proxies or VPN - I tried to automate with proxies and bot, still got banned. Than I switched to VPNs which is, in my experience, better solution, but the drawback is you have to do it manually.
3) change user agent for every account (there are some plugins for that)
4) use different email providers
5) don't spam too much - one link in caption is enough, don't go with clickthrough links to your offer; also, 40-50 pictures daily with link
6) shorten your link - change link shorteners periodically

I don't say that following the steps above won't get you banned from time to time, its just that it will minimize the possibility that tumblr connects all your accounts and terminate them all. By constantly developing new blogs you can get yourself a step ahead of their banning machine, and that can be pretty profitable.

God luck, here to help if you need advice.

But goddamn, i just saw you posted like 30 threads that start with "hey peeps" asking about 30 different ways to get money, and all in one hour?
I don't think that approach will get you anywhere - I would advise that you pick a method that suits you most, that you will have fun learning and trying out, and stick with it.
If you decide to go tumblr, you can count on my help.

Yes, Its possible , Just do properly.

I just want to say, Do not Invest Hard Cash on anything where you are really Noob, First invest your time to learn properly then invest Money.
But dont forget time is also money, LOL

I have just created 2 tumblr accounts in 2 different niches.
How many followers would you suggest having before i start throwing up affiliate links?
And if im posting between 15-35 pictures a day and direct linking to affiliate products...
How many of pictures i post could have a links to be under the radar from getting banned?

I would suggest havinn a lot of followers before throwing aff offers. I would suggest that you first grow one blog (or two, if you already went with 2) to at least 5-10K followers.
These blogs should be your clean blogs, you should use them to grow your ather blogs by reblogging stuff from new blogs to these established ones. You can then post aff links in the caption of the pics on your new blogs, and then reblog those offers on your big blogs. This way, you never originally put any aff link on your big blog, but all your followers still see your link. Plus, you get to grow another blog. This doesn't mean you're ban-proof, but I believe it decreases the chances of getting banned.

There are few way you can get followers:
a) You can follow users in your niche, reblog their stuff and like their pictures. Hopefully, they follow back.
b) Personally, I think this way will get you far more followers: Send "asks" or submit pictures to bigger blogs in your niche, come up with some personal story that you will send them. Like, "Hi my name is Blabla, I used to be fat and ugly but in last 2 months I lost 10kg and now I'm pretty. I just made my blog to inspire and help others to do the same. Please show some support and reblog some stuff you like. Thanx." I'm sure you'll come up with some better pitch, but thats the idea. Make it look personal and helpful for others. Do like 50-100 submissions per day, and once they start to reblog you'll grow pretty fast.

Then once you have a "big" blog with 5-10K, start a new one. Post 50 pictures with your aff link in the caption (not just link, write some pitch like "This is by far the best blabla product on market today, trust me I've tried it all"), and then reblog those 50 pics to your big blog. Put them in queue of your blog and post like 30-50 daily.

p.s. don't forget to include the tips to protect yourself from my first post, especially if you continue to grow and have more than 3-4 blogs

Yes Of course! It is possible but I suggest you to get so many followers first and then use it for affiliate marketing.
All the best!!

thanks for all those tips. would keeping accounts to the same IP\useragent\etc help stay under the ban radar?

I do it that way. I use 1 VPN connection for max 3 blogs, but every blog has its own user agent and it always stays the same for that blog.

It varies a lot between bans and new accounts, about 50k today.

What is a user agent? and what plugins/software can change it like you said?

-JB

Basically, you are changing the type and version of your browser for every blog. Of course, you're not doing it for real, there's a plugin for that called Random Agent Spoofer which does it in one click. Its pretty basic and you'll understand everything as soon as you install it.

Tumblr is a goldmine, But they hate aff links too. For automating tumblr you can check link in my signature.

How accepting are they when it comes to people posting a link to a website with a click bank product on it?

That's good advice right there!

It depends on the person who is reviewing your blog and what they think about it. If they believe you are spamming or doing affiliate marketing then they will ban you. If not, you are safe ... until the next person reviews you.

It's best to be prepared for them to shut you down and to have back up accounts ready. You are never safe with Tumblr.

I wonder whats their problem with people doing affliate marketing but promoting sites for ad revenue is totally okay lol.
