I haven't used teespring myself lately but I've seen some Teespring campaigns pass my Facebook timeline. It's a game of testing and tweeking A LOT of campaigns and losing a lot of money. Untill you find that one winning campaign. (This is if you use Teespring and Facebook ads. If you already have a huge following in a certain niche it might be easier).

It is mostly a waste of time and money. If you use fb ads you will only get likes and comments like "I want this" "I need this" but in the end nobody buys it. Most people do not even bother clicking the link, from the ones that click the link most will leave immediately when they find out that they a. cannot buy immediately but have to wait till the campaign ends to see if it even will be printed and b. have to pay much more for a t shirt than e.g. on eBay and Amazon.

The truth is clothing will never be over saturated. The reason why most campaigns fail is their method (approach) to psychology. 99.99% are fucking spam and scream "hey I'm desperate please buy from me!"

whoops. The Merch By Amazon is only available through invitation. You can still apply for it but I doubt they'll let small players get in as of now.

Said the guy who admitted he doesn't make decent money and 100% have not tried with half a brain + few grands to use fb ads+teespring. Because it's still working like a charm. Any of you can look at teespring homepage and see tons of campaigns with thousands of sales each.. using fb ads. (using some tools)

I recently saw an ad on facebook of a Teespring Tshirt with my name. the tshirt said something stupid like: Be awesome like _________. _________s are cool" or something like that.

How you target people on FB based on their name?

Teespring still works really well if you have quality graphics and original designs. You can always JV with a graphic design student (I pay my next door neighbor $1 per shirt) or hire a VA to do your designs for you. There are other alternatives such as Represent that work well too. It really is all about getting a targeted audience, building trust, and testing different designs. Anything humorous will get plenty of shares, likes, and comments. Find the RIGHT design and you can bank.

Careful with Facebook ads though...it can get pretty expensive if you don't have much experience dealing with it or don't have the time to test when to post ads, etc. You can also try to be niche driven and post directly to some FB groups but this takes some testing as you don't want to appear too spammy. Just with any other IM venture, make sure to engage with your audience before cramming sales down their throats.

Custom designs usually are hit or miss.. Yes there is opportunity here, but it's more of a means to split-testing and finding suitable product offerings.

Couldn't agree more. Testing, testing and more testing....that's what marketing is all about. Think outside the box a little and you can definitely score with this. Just posting a pic of a t-shirt will make your audience say to themselves "Oh God, not another t-shirt". Now put this shirt (preferably tank top) on a half-naked chic on the beach.....I'll just stop here!
