Hi people,
Had a few queries with regards to experience with Shopify. I hope you all can help me learn things by clearing up my doubts. Here goes.
1. When you do ACTUALLY GET PAID ON SHOPIFY??Is it any of the following options
A) Customer pays you, You get the credited amount and use it to purchase products.
B) Customer pays you, You pay for the products from your own money from the seller, Seller gives the shipping/tracking info, You publish the tracking info to the shopify/customer then you get paid.
C) Customer pays you, You pay for the products from your own money from the seller, Seller gives the shipping/tracking info, You publish the tracking info to the shopify/customer, ONCE THE CUSTOMER RECEIVES IT then you get paid.
2. Can you use Shopify payment/checkout if you are not from the US?? If not what would be the best option [ besides Paypal/bitcoin] to be paid [ Paypal is nice, I know that but most cases if the customer says
he did not receive the item[ mostly a case of cheating customer], Paypal mostly sides with them and so will lose item and cash.]
3. How much " STARTINGUP CASH" would one newcomer/newbie/new shop-owner require to gain initial entry/footing into the Shopify universe
Kindly let me know as estimates like Facebook Ads => approx $X and Product Cost => $XXX [ would be safe to initially have in order to purchase the products for the customers]
4. Can anyone please advice me on what is a good/safest pricing strategy for a newcomer/newbie/new shop-owner on Shopify.
Eg.: General Pricing Strategy option :
i) Set the price of the item at $X [ say $7] with free shipping , You buy the item for $3 [ with free shipping or $2 shipping => e-packet mail] So Profit is $2 to $4.
ii) Set the price of the item at $Y [ say 10c to $2] with $12 - $14.90 shipping charges, You buy the item for $3 [ with free shipping or $2 shipping => e-packet mail] So Profit is $7.10 - $10.
Do you people think putting a higher item price or putting a higher shipping price may deter potential customers, given that the items are not rare/the shipping time is too long to pay so much. Please share your thoughts.
5. Is there a way for non US owners to have Shopify payments/checkouts and send the earning to Paypal/Local country accounts/Any other Payment intermediaries.
I am asking for just your valuable knowledge so that I too can learn and contribute to our community some time in the future.
Thanks & Warm Regards,
CuteKid
