Making Money with my website

New here....I have a hip hop website RealHipHopdaily_com.... I've had it for about 3 years. At the moment I am not making any income off the site. hiphopdx_com djbooth_net are two of the top sites in my niche, I want to make about 2500 a month eventually off the site. Right now I would be ok with around 500$ a month but I would like to know what steps I would take to get to that point. I can get interviews with different hip hop artists but they come every once in a while. Just want to know what I can do to get my traffic up and if you guys feel my goals are realistic

Your goals are realistic. Yes. To earn money you need to monetize the site. Take a look at getting adsense on it.

There are 1001 things you can do to get more traffic and there are 1 million and 1 posts in this forum about how to do it!

Try doing search engine optmization work, building backlinks.

Getting involved more in the social networks, facebook, twitter, pinterest, etc.

And many more...

Also join sites like commision junction and clickbank and try and find some accounts that would fit your target market like things related to music or clothes or things like that.
