Hello everyone I really could use some help, first off I'm gonna say that I'm a total noob when it comes to blackhat and making money online, but I'm here to learn so meh :)

I like drawing alot and I like to think I'm rather good at it, I'm not amazing but I have style that's diffrent from many others,
And now I would like to make some money off my it :D
I'm not sure how I would do this tho, most art I make is digital so it's not like I can sell the .jpeg

Turn your artistic tendencies toward photoshop. If you are skilled at this, you can charge for the service of header and logo design. From there it's a short jump to website creation and that can really make you some coin. Just an idea.....
 
umm.... words that come to my mind when i read about the artistic talent

Draw stuff....attract interest....go viral(social bookmarking)....$$$$$

Go check out comic strips on the internet...find some that are super funny....
then..draw them in your way...change a bit of the text...and uve got yourself
a big "viral" piece....
 
I suggest you start by creating a deviantart gallery (I have one too, beeing a digital artist myself) on deviantart.com

You can publish all of your creation in your gallery for free, and enter the great community of deviants, and deviantart also offers a free service of printing and selling prints from your drawing.

You just have to make your drawing "available in the shop" when you submit them, and everytime someone orders a print, deviantart takes care of printing and delivering it, and you just relax and get the cash (price paid by customer minus deviant's printing fees).

Then you can use blackhat methods to get more traffic and make your gallery known, so you'll get more orders :)
 
You can start by offering your services here and in other forums like Digital Point. Yes, it's a lame forum, but there are tons of users.
 
1st i suggest to make an account to deviantart like zak said. basically its like a social websites for artists.. try to get known there.
then make a website of your portfolio where u show ur works. do seo on it.

if u know to do portraits, you could get some friends, do them and make videos while u make them and post them on youtube. make a nice channel there. then get people to pay for the same thing.

video the process of drawing them, upload youtube, make a blog on ur website, deliver the drawings to clients, etc.
 
Show me some of your drawings and I'll give you a straight forward good or bad review to see if you can make some money with what you enjoy doing.
 
i have a small amount of design/graphic skills i here is what i have done/am doing the following.

1.custom made paper decor-own website(not launched)

2. i have entered contests on 99designs(dotcom). entered 2-not yet won.

3.t-shirt designs, on my own site or join a specific contests like, i forget the name of that sites. do a google of t shirts design

4. there is also incspring(dotcom) where you design a brand/logo then offer to sell.

there is zazzle, cafepress where you can put your designs on all sorts of products, put up a site and get 10%.

i was just looking at a wholesalers/dropshippers program thru
vistaprint-reseller where you can have a biz selling print items based on your design.

you can also design and sell screensavers and wallpapers, i believe there is software for that. look on a rapidshare search engine.

well anyway, those are my suggestions, good luck!
 
i make money with art, a good thing to do is merchandise with your art, make POd stores, link em all together, promote the hell out of them.

i find selling tshirts at my art shows is the best legit money maker so far

There are some print companies online that you can join. Then you can create easely an online shop that sells printed tshirts with your art. As a aff. you can set your own price etx and all the cc stuff and shipping will be done by that company.

Yeah 19w08 said what I'd say. Just find a company online you can make designs for or something. Make icons and designs and try to sell to website makers or so online too.

Do some designs, and plaster them everywhere on all the items they have, Look for whats hot these days and try it out, Trial and error is what it might take but once you hit something that sells just keep doing it, try different things out, Create a store over there also.

Another idea, is create yourself a myspace and plaster your art work in their classifieds, Make some of the artists your friends and see if they need some posters or flyers made up for upcoming events, Maybe some cd inserts.

That should keep ya busy and motivated I hope.

I've seen ridiculous pictures sell for good money. I once saw a picture that the person just put their hands in paint and smudged it around on a canvas sell for $120. I'm sure you could do much better.
 
I can spend 40-80 hours on a drawing and get a few hundred dollars, but paintings sell for $800+. Your drawing skills may not translate to digital art (mine sure as hell don't), but you should think about changing to more marketable media. Val, at valsartdiary.com is an expert marketer and a painter, but she's also smoking hot, has a sexy fricking accent, and knows how to play to the camera. You can learn a lot by watching her, and if you are a reasonably attractive male you can learn to appeal to the female audience the same way she plays to the male audience. Did I mention that she's smoking hot and has a sexy accent? Oh yeah, she's a pretty good artist too, but her marketing skills are what make the sales. Anyone on BHW who does video blogging/vlogging or uses youtube should check her out.
OMG she's hawt.
 
I say create a website that provides certain artistic services (NOT PRODUCTS). Incorporate affiliate ads and what not within the web page and you should be able to make decent money.

What I'm going to do is build a website, and on the website sell t-shirts/prints via cafepress as mentioned above. I think my art would fit rather good on tshirts :P

I got a deviantart account allready, and it's a great way to get traffic..
Just add shit loads of people to your friend list, I automated the proccess and over the night I got 300 people to add me back. I bet one could get much much more added if the art was better then mine, or anime related. deavintart is filled with 12 year old animetards..

One thing that is extremely important when it comes to digital art is, you need to know how to create in "vector" art format by using such applications as Adobe Illustrator or Xara Xtreme. By creating your work in vector art format, it allows the possibility of your images to later be scaled from the size of a postage stamp, all the way to being large enough to fit on a highway billboard without losing any image sharpness. PSD (Photshop) format is fine for web use, but if you hook up with a professional company, they will invariably want "AI" (Adobe Illustrator) renderings. Those can later easily be converted to PSD (Photoshop) images. But it is very important that your initial image is created in vector format.

You also need to know how to render images in CMYK (Cyan, Magegenta, Yellow, Kobol). That is for primt purposes.

It's nice to be able to create beautiful images with a computer, but in order to sell your images, you need to find out more about the tecnical aspects of what is demanded by companies who buy graphic work. Do some online research. There's lots of info out there.
