Making Money with Autocad skills?

Hey guys, I need some advice.

I dont know if anyone of you can help with this, any advice is appreciated.

I am an Autodesk Certified Instructor and pretty good with Autocad 2D and 3D skills, but I dont know much about Internet Marketing. Where I live my skills are not paid nearly as well as in Western countries, so I want to get to customers in western countries.

Any idea how to achieve that with minimal investment? Joint Venture maybe?

Since I am in an industry that uses CAD, one thing is don't constantly spam emails with really bad English. Its really annoying.

There are a lot of people who want to brush up on their skills or learn the basics. In the States there is a huge push to Revit for those specialties that can benefit from it.

My intention is not to teach AutoCAD, but to draw. I also have a lot of former students who can draw in Autocad, so we could take on larger projects. I need advice on which is the best way to advertise this type of service and how to reach customers in western countries.
 
Make youtube tutorials and link them to your website with more tutorials. Buy some high retention views and quality backlinks. Monitize with adsense and maybe clickbank

Well in that case no one cares if you are certified to draw in Autocad for production work. A good drafter only needs a high school degree. Send out samples to industries that you can perform work in. Find smaller Architects as one place to start. There are lists on different license and group sites. My specialization I can't see outsourcing working very well and a lot of local municipalities have their own codes to deal with. So it depends how fast you can adapt to a specific locale.

As an example an overseas company was going to charge around $30/hr to revise structural details for us to our standards. That seems really expensive to me to just change line colors and weights. But they must be finding work if that's their price.

First thing I would do is setup a website with sample work. Because it also looks tacky sending emails from a gmail account unless you are an established old timer. I get these emails every day and they all go to the trashcan.
 
I don't have any personal experience with it, but have you looked into creating a Udemy course? The idea of doing YT videos that link to your own site with more good tutorials is good, too. Besides Adsense and others mentioned, you could create a simple membership site. If they want the really good videos, they need to subscribe for access.
 
It's great that you have such kind of skill. Well, if you want to generate profit out of it, you can consider offering tutorials to interested individuals through YouTube. You can even consider offering private tutorials. In addition, if you want to explore the world of Internet Marketing, you should search for expert assistance.

A lot of training is now done via the internet - you could set up your own YouTube channel and post some videos where you show people certain tips/skills and then direct them to your site for a fuller course.

Autocad skill can bring you far in the world, there is a lot of work for it all over the world , the best freelance site for me personal is Fiverr, go check it out and tell me what you think:clap2:
 
Simple question about AutoCAD, can the designs/maps be exported in another format for web publishing?
 
You could maybe create a course for Udemy or offer a small work on Fiverr. The best thing would be to find a job. I know people make good money with Autocad. Good luck anyways. :)
 
Me again, a good tip, get in a team with a guy like me that also have autocad skills and work with each other and helping each other out, pm me and we can talk more about the topic:idea:
 
Create a gig on fiverr for a simple work, then upsell if the buyer ask for something more.
 
You might be able to make some pretty cool 3d Printer objects with your AutoCad skills and mass produce something people will want.

It's a new industry, you can either sell, use or content lock your designs.

AGREE. Set up a website. Buehost and Wordpress Combo for something like $25 per year. Or hire someone in BHW. Post PDF Samples, your CV, and write in proper English. FYI: American's won't give your site a second look if the grammar sucks...no matter how well you know AutoCAD. We're funny that way. lol

Do a "SEARCH ALL OF CRAIGSLIST" too. Loads of jobs on there. Stay away from Elance and ODesk, IMO. Too many bidders per job. Far too much effort for the ROI. Good Luck!
