Hi roki4ka

Great thread and very well timed!.

I am just beginning my AliDropship adventure and have a couple of questions for you:

1/ you mention using the free SSL certification that Cloudfare provides, but that involves changing nameserver settings over to Cloudfare's....I thought that to be able to pull through all the data from AliExpress you needed special settings on your hosting account....or is the change to Cloudfare only to get the SSL certification in place?....a little more background on this would be really useful :)

2/ you also mentioned that you have now built around 10 of the AliDropship stores....is that because you wanted ecommerce sites that each one was very tightly niched, or if not was your logic based upon?. Additionally the AliDropship plugin is only for a single site license, you buy a new one for each new install?.

I am very keen to get into ecommerce, I am getting Yaros's team to build my first site to ensure everything is set up right, and will then attempt to build out the next one myself using their blueprint.

Would e useful to keep in touch as there could well be little tips & tricks we can exchange to our mutual benefit.

All the best.
Kevin

I am not into dropshipping but I use cloudflare myself. Cloudflare is simple CDN with tons of options for securing and speeding up your website - the free plan is shared SSL. All you have to do is change the nameservers of your domain - nothing else. After that you can play a little with the speed option and minify your scripts - this helps with page speed rankings. After you complete the steps use purge everything option in caching category in cloudflare menu - this will catch fresh info from your server. After you have done all these, w8 for 4-24 hours and install + activate "Really Simple SSL'' plugin - it will detect your SSL and will make all your pages green and HTTPS. I suggest using "Remove Query strings from static recources" plugin and not the option in cloudflare and use a nice cache plugin (not W3, use WP super cache) + use WP Smush for your pictures - all these will help for better loading speed. Also make sure if you are on shared hosting that the server on which is your website have enabled http/2 otherwise you will have some problems with site speed. To test a good shared hosting check 10 websites that are using that host , 3-4 times each and compare the server response rate. Google suggest 0.2 sec or less, if it is more Google will put it in yellow or red. If all 10 websites show over 0.5 every single time you test them - dont bother with this hosting company.

The short answer to your 2nd question is yes.

Basically, when you create tight niche website, you target smaller circle of people and when you have your site SEO optimized and/or target this specific auditory in the social networks your conversion rate is a lot higher.

There are many more factors that make a niche specific website better choice than a general store like AliExpress.

The best you can do with all this is to build niche specific community and soon it will start to grow on its own.

To do this start with a regular blog and when you see you have good daily traffic make a forum.

Next step would be to hire 1-2 writers, 1-2 moderators and 1-2 customer supports that will also take care of the orders - you will need them if you want to scale.

Addition to the answer of the 1st question:

Yes, that's most of the things. Also, you can't use W3 with AliDropship.

To avoid this go with VPS/Dedicated server. Last week I got my parts for my own dedicated server. I have instantly transferred 2 websites for 3 months testing and if everything goes like now (perfect) I will transfer the rest.

I will never ever go back to shared hosting anymore - I just want to be in full control of my websites. Even if you go with VPS or Dedicated server from a big company you still don't have guarantee that it won't shut down or something won't happen. And when the server is downstairs I can sleep better ;)

However what you need to read a lot is about DDOS attacks and how to minimize the threat. Or hire a company to do this for you.

Read, do mistakes, learn, repeat. Ideally, it can be Read about someone's else mistakes, learn, repeat.

Thank you for the information roki4ka! Can I ask which plugins your using on dropshipping sites (a simple list of plugins that are 100% necessary)? 1 - Alidropship plugin 2- Yoast 3-Cloud SSL ..what else? thnx

Dropshipping from China is WAY harder than many of you might think, because you leave out the difficulties and risks in terms of chargebacks, refunds, payment processor problems, delivery times, impatient customers, bad feedback, high costs etc. However, in order to succeed in this business you definetly have to be consistent and follow an overall gameplan. Its not enough anymore to just throw visitors from FB to your store and hope for the best. Basically every niche has 100s, if not 1000s of competitors, therefore those with the best marketing and sales strategy will stand out in the end.

Maybe also my video about the common mistakes in Shopify and eCommerce in general help you guys a bit (sorry the quality is a bit bad, gets better in later videos though)
