Lol @Stiletto - yes but offering real giveaways is good as long as you're making profit. I have about about $7,000 to invest and would like to start something. I'm just scrabbling around some ideas.

check out buying popunders... there was a really big detailed thread shared here where OP laid it out with sweepstakes niche. which is pretty much those cpa offers where you input your email for chance to win visa giftcard, starbucks giftcard, walmart giftcard.... or whatever. lots of these cpa offers are in circulation.

7k is more than enough budget to get your feet wet with buying traffic.

buy real giftcards and give them everyone? i have similar idea for my site.

I'm new to this so take what i say with a gain of salt. You create a legit site, have giveaways , these giveaways entries requires a survey or etc to be filled out, ..in hopes you have enough conversions for the giveaway as well as profit. Have users write a testimony which in turns lets people know the giveawsys are real, you continue to build traffic and rinse and repeat.
I might be missing some steps here but it's what i thought about.

not sure it will be profitable if give you give a gift every person..
may be some kind of lottery will be better - like 1 of 5 persons wins
What do you mean by give half of what the affiliate gives you as a free sign up?
How would this work with discount codes when they are available very easily online?

you ask the person question that relate to a discount code you no on offer , this way you give some think free they want...
No not to everyone get the gift cards. each survey, email etc is just an entry in to win the gift card

the idea is to provide some think for free not tell them what they won until they took action for you to earn money
you disclose no think you show a landing page giving free cut price items away , the user fill In a form so you get there email also on that form get them to tell you what there into, and that will also relate to a discount prize, when they fill in a quiz and at the end of the quiz they get a email with there prize discount code as a thank you
afflicate pay you and there happy ...win win situation

So you ask them a question before revealing the code? Sorry for the ignorance.
1 person for each giveaway. You have a give away for a $5 gift card. Let's say 200 people answer a survey. You get 10 cents(I'm not sure of the actual payout for such action) for each survey completed. That's $20 - $5 gift card = 15 profit (of course minus any paid traffic or etc you used to get those 200 signups).

ITS CHEAPER TO BUY LIKES ON YOUTUBE VIDEO AND COMMENTS, to proof that it works, poeple does not understan that its fake, just make something like, in order to join giveaway please share this on social media (people share to unlock), just BOOM, make it look real, and think out the box

1. look up all the discount on offer (( remember discount are on date so might need to make a scrapping app to get all the free offers on the .net))
setup a nice website showing lovely items that are free as a discount in your landing page .
get a form and ask for there email and also ask what sort of products, service, there into , use a select dox to show what on offer like ^ do you like videos^ if they select that ,you no to use a video discount voucher ather they fill in a offer .....
when the form is submitted goes to a afflicate offer .
when offer complete they get a emails of the discount code , you no what there into from your form info ....
