Honestly, making money online is tough. For 6 months, I've been writing articles on and off for two niches sites. I've written over 50,000 words with a good amount of research.

Do you know how much money I made? $0.

Maybe my writing sucks; I'm trying to improve on making my readers get excited about a product since the only way I can make money is if they make a purchase.

There's one small glimmer of hope which is one of my pages ranks on the first page for a very long tail keyword. Small traffic but it's the first time I've gotten real clicks registered on Google Search Console.

The toughest part isn't even pushing through. It's not knowing whether what you're doing is moving the needle. I code during the day and it's easy to know when I'm wrong. I simply run the program and then instantly I'll know if my code is working or not. With affiliate marketing, it seems like I'm walking through this endless tunnel and I constantly pivot directions wondering if I'm heading toward the light.

For experience affiliate marketers, can you impart any wisdom?

I assume you don't understand how to drive traffic, this is not a negative nor a bad thing. Just something you should consider.

I don't know what you had tried in the past but maybe try to have social profiles and be active there to drive traffic to your website. For instance you could use twitter to join conversations and thus increase your followers on twitter then link the page to your website. Although building twitter, IG, FB groups etc. takes time another few months to get the ball rolling.

Always try different tactics and see what works for you. What is working for somebody else might not work for you.

You could create niche relevant discord or telegram channel for instance and try to build people around it for instance. I mean I am mostly pointing out what could be done but it ain't easy at all specially for a beginner. I myself am experimenting with some stuff atm....
 
why not try ecommerce? selling physical products, like dropshipping

i've always sucked at affiliate marketing. was okay at CPA marketing. getting traffic is a bitch, finding an okay offer isn't that hard. the main problem when it comes to making money is getting traffic. the most effective way is to just pay for it
 
You got this, don't worry. Things won't always kick off straight away or always work out but keep up the hard work, and spend a lot of time thinking about it and you'll get to where you want to be one day.
 
without stats I can't comment anything. So many factors to not get sale.
 
I think you read too much Steal Patel and Toast articles and you have this text in your mind all the time "Content Is the King", which is the biggest SEO lie.

Content won't rank you. You can write the best researched and deepest and longest content ever and it won't bring you a dime.

Now, when you have content, go read about link building, build the links same as you write your content and you will see bucks rolling in.
 
Apart from obligatory "You don't say" meme, I'd guess that you might have chosen a rather competitive niche or apart from on-page SEO, you haven't done much?

I mean, I'm in no way competent to teach, as I'm doing similar thing on my own and it is difficult, but you could try building social profiles, post your website on fb groups, go play with pinterest ( plenty of guidance within the forum ), quora answers, forum postings etc. This is what I would count as to get short-term results.

Link-building would be something to go long term. Again, not a guru, but there's plenty of info on BHW regarding it.

Content is not everything and content alone won't get you ranked or rich for that matter. A lot more exposure is what you need.
 
have you tried to build links to your articles? Or market your content? Semms like you are just writing and hoping for the best...
 
You should try something different but if you want to stick with writing then it is better to build your own website and post quality content on daily basis.When it start getting some traffic then apply for Google adsense.

This is the right answer!
SEO takes a lot of time even if you got the best content on your website. You need to focus on SEO and link building. And within a year you’ll start to rank real good on the keywords, given that you work on those keywords.
 
sure as shit it's hard, I've been trying methods 5 years now and didn't make shit until last year, and the pay wasn't good, been trying to scale but this year (from sept 2018 to present) was very good, so 3 to 4 first years was just learning, the past year was making few per month, now I'm making something per day, trying so hard to automate things but that has a limit, it's work, hard work especially when you're a student on the side

Like i said many times, writing a lot of content alone is not gonna make you money. You need to promote it, share it, build link to it, etc.

But.. could you get traffic without building links? Yes you can if you do your home work, targeting right keywords.

That's why keyword research is the very first step for profitable campaign.
