You can go on upwork or freelancer to get lot of money (depending on your country also since some buyers prefer to pay a developer from their country or which use the same native language as them).
Also, you can create bunch of apps publish them on play store or on the ios app store and then sell them on flippa.

On Upwork is very hard to go in ( anyway, there are a few BHW members who can help you for a small payment ). Freelancer is oversaturated, and so PeoplePerHour, Fiverr, etc. . I think the better way, if you're established in a western country, to search in your town for local clients. Go to their brick&mortar store, call them, etc.. If not, start from the ground: Make a developer website, build websites until you will create a strong portfolio ( even if you cut the development price ) and then you will make a stable income. If you present, let's say, 30-40 websites ( real, not fake websites ), you will be on the right way. There is no magic method, without an effort.

i think the best way to make money as developer it's by searching for problem for people that already make money online , like eBay dropshipping , shopify, affiliate marketers and try to find a painful problem they face,

then find a solution for this problem and develop a web app or plugin or anything to solve the problem for them and market this solution for them and they will pay you a lot if your product save them money or time , and let them make more money
