Making money from MMORPGs?

One of the first ways I wound up making bank online was selling Runescape and Habbo Hotel eBooks on how to "get rich" in each game on eBay.

I made a few hundred a week - which was a lot for how young I was back then. Then eventually eBay hardened up on it all and I was forced to find new things.

if you are good at programming then you can make bots , almost day by day new MMO come into existence and i believe in all games you can make real money.

Bots are probably the most profitable method... Will require you to be a experienced programmer of course, but they are usually low priced and monthly subscriptions with large userbase

I know of a programmer that sells a monthly subscription for 5€ for a bot and he has over 30K costumers, so do the math, and thats monthly

Yes there's a lot of money to be made from cheats and bots , I used to sell legit gaming related virtual goods before but the profits are too low , I don't know programming to make a bot myself can anyone link me to some reliable sites where i can buy Bots?

Thanks in advance

I also played Diablo 2 and looking foreward to Diablo 3(potential gold mine).
Thing that bothers me is if they will make items in diablo 3 soulbind like in World of Warcraft(that means that items obtained by you cant be traded to anyone else besides your party),that could ruin the whole diablo *item selling concept* which d2 had.

I play World of Warcraft and today 1000 gold is like 1.5euro or less 1.3e.What eniviD said boting on mass lvl is the way to go for the real money.
When we go back at 2005-2007 1k gold in WoW was like 10+ euros and whoever had bots, mules and other gold exploits made really huge money.

Also the gold sites buy cheap gold from us players and resell for higher.
Today the most profitable in WoW would be powerleveling, honor grinding and getting the starter pvp set,Arena services and selling characters with special moutns, titules and achievements. There is also money from writing quality guides for games.

Yesterday launched a new MMO called Rift,so maybe some of you should check it out, being first to offer a service is a plus always.

Private WoW servers,WoW,Rift,Terra, and upcoming Star Wars MMO and Diablo 3 could be a good money income.

I also heard that Blizzard is working on Marketplace service inside battlenet where people can sell their premium Starcraft 2 maps and mods.

interesting thread will subscribe to this. unfortunately in the money sense i never played any of these games lol so wonder how you can outsource not having any knowledge but nice ideas

Read quite a bit about people using bots in the MMO game EVE.

There is some really advanced programs they use that can control fleets of ships.

Seems to be lots of people mining away in game but also bots that run missions.

Trouble with using this is eve is a skill based game so you would either have to be playing it already to get a character that can fly the ships or buy a character.

Still it's interesting reading a program called roidripper seems popular.

Actually transferring the assets from in game into real world does seem quite complicated and risky though.

The phrase RMT EVE throws up quite a few interesting reads.

i've recently started Eve botting. at first glance it is a little bit hard to at least earn 5$ a day from 1 bot running 23/7. But i am making my way trough it. People's impression on Rift is not so good, i've watched the gameplay and it is the dupe of WOW =))) But people have already started to write bots =)))

Like you outsource anything else you have no idea how to do... find someone who does. If we had to learn everything about our niche to compete in it, IM would be a pretty slow job. This is the sort of thing you hit up forums for usually rather than freelance sites.

I don't know about the idea of botting things myself... I'd be interested in developing a bot, but not running one on my own system. The other end seems much more profitable in the long run.

back in the time when I was addicted to some MMO (2007) I was offered 800$ by a guy from Kuwait (they are full of petrol money and they rule on any MMO just by buying stuff) for 1 single drop that was like the rarest thing on the server but I denied, looking back now I LOL at it

I think bots can make good money but they must be scaled. The most profitable in MMORPG, in my opinion, is private servers. Some examples are WOW, RO and Maplestory.

As long as you cover your tracks and don't reveal any real information as to who you are, you can move your players by changing the name of your private server. I know someone making 3k/mo with a private server. Any time they get a DMCA, they just buy a new VPS and direct their players to the new server.

hi there, good answers i must say, i don't know much about bots for now, haven't done yet, but i know programming and i love to learn, so if anyone know about bots or making money using my skills we can JV or in fact, if you are the kind of guy that know how the bussiness is moving on IM and don't know how to program, i can teach you and JV, pm me, please only serious people that want to make money online like me.

Does anybody know where to hire people cheap to goldfarm for a flat rate? I am currently farming in a game and selling the gold all manually making $1600-$2000 per month but i want to outsource it. Also does anybody know how much i'd need to pay per hour?

Hi. I know this is an old post. But if you ever read this. I am willing to work for you. I have 34 PC for rent as my business here in our country and 10 of them are for MMORPG Piloting and some freelancing stuff.

If you are still interested on hiring a pilot/ farmer. Just PM me.

i think the best way to make money off games is to create your own. you could always find people in low wage countries and pay them to level up characters that pay you.

I've made money on a MMORPG indirectly by selling people my programs/bots that help them in-game, on another,it automatically fetches and buys items at low prices.
