Making LinkedIn Public

I know the method and what you need to do to make it public but does anyone else have issues with it actually BECOMING public?

I can't figure this one out, I have some profiles that worked and flipped over to public then some that do not?

I'm thinking maybe you gotta have a certain amount of friends or recommendation or something.

Anyone confirm or deny this thought.

Or better yet just know the answer to this? LinkedIn offers nothing in this regard.

Click on the Me icon at the top of Your Own LinkedIn homepage.

Click View profile. On yourprofile page, click Edit people profile & URL on the ideal rail. Beneath the Edit Visibility section in the railing, check or uncheck the boxes to choose which sections you'd like to display or hide.
