    Hi Guys,

I have not been able to find much reading on setting up a forum and making them popular and so I creating this thread to ask for some feedback on the best methods to do so.

Right now I have a WP blog that gets about 200 hits a day all from organic google searching (all whitehat), however I would like to add forums to the site and get get them cranking.

Any suggestions on the most successful way to get them going?

I have been looking at paying for posts, but not sure that its the right way to go about it, looking to have the forums become a long term investment kind of thing.

Forums are extremely difficult to monetize. Even a very well established forum with thousands of legit members and posts usually sells for less than $1k or about 4x the monthly earnings. If you're looking to create an income, I would suggest avoiding forums.

^^^Then again, that is just my opinion, I'm sure there are a million people making money from forums, I'm just not one of them.

What do you suggest making rather than forums? Just curios. And also to OP, if you're thinking about purchasing posts, don't, you can easily get them free from PostLoop. It's basically a forum post exchange but it works very well.

Thanks guys, not looking so much for the money angle in the forums as much as I am wanting the traffic so they read my front page blog - where the money happens.

Will take a peak at PostLoop - thanks!
